HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 221 Sudden Leave

Chapter 221 Sudden Leave

This Care of Magical Creatures class didn't go well. Umbridge followed Hagrid into the Forbidden Forest and her behavior made Hagrid quite uneasy, but in the end she didn't do anything.

A week later, the two teams' confinement ended. They learned their lesson and stayed quiet for a while. After that, any conflicts were only verbal.

As time goes by and December comes, the school starts to decorate for Christmas. Students all have to help and the class leaders' job is to supervise them.

Gloria and Draco will both go back for Christmas this year. Recently, Lucius and his counterpart at the Ministry of Magic received letters saying that everything is normal in the ministry.

In the secret room, a burst of fire appeared next to the two people who were doing their homework. Then the phoenix Fox appeared. It threw the envelope in its mouth onto the table. Fire appeared on its body again and then it disappeared.

Draco waved his hand over the area where Fawkes had been. "Does it always appear like this?"

"That's about it." Gloria opened the letter. There wasn't much content in it, so she finished reading it quickly.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I wrote to Headmaster Dumbledore some time ago, and he finally replied." Gloria said, "Umbridge will at least find an opportunity to fire a teacher. I want to know if he has any way to deal with it."

"Does he have a solution?"

Gloria nodded. "She said she's already looking for a new teacher, but I have to give her a little advice."

The boy came over and asked, "What suggestions?"

Gloria smiled and said, "It's hard to fire the teachers of the required courses. They have been teaching for many years and have a wealth of knowledge and skills. So we can only choose from the teachers of the elective courses. Harry's elective courses are within the range of expulsion."

She continued, "There are two backup candidates, one for Divination and the other for Care of Magical Creatures. But Hagrid is obviously Dumbledore's man. If he is expelled, Hagrid will definitely continue to help the headmaster. I believe Fudge wants him to be seen in school. That leaves Trelawney from Divination. This subject is not as difficult to learn as Runes and Arithmetic Divination. She also gives people the impression of being a liar. So if we want to expel someone, she is the best candidate."

Draco chuckled, "I've heard of this professor. Every time a third-year student chooses this course, she predicts a death."

Everyone described Trelawney as a liar, and Hermione gave up the course because of this.

"No matter what, let the principal prepare in advance."

As soon as she finished speaking, the fire reappeared and Fox tilted his head to look at her.

Draco frowned, "Are you eavesdropping?!"

Gloria quickly finished writing the letter, folded it slightly, and handed it to Fox, "Thank you for your help."

The phoenix gently held the parchment in its mouth, and the fire flashed and disappeared.

I don't know if Headmaster Dumbledore has gone to look for a backup teacher for the Divination class. The school has been relatively quiet recently.

Umbridge has finally suspended her review of the professors, and the results of the review are not yet known.

With two days left before the holiday, Gloria did not see Harry and Ron at breakfast. Rather, the four Weasley siblings were gone, leaving only Hermione sitting at the dining table.

Professor McGonagall was also absent from the staff table.

Soon they heard news from Gryffindor that Harry and several Weasleys had asked for leave early, for reasons that were still unclear.

A letter suddenly appeared in front of Gloria. It was a letter sent by an elf using magic, and it was signed by Sirius.

It must be something very important that made Harry and the others leave in such a hurry, so she didn't open the letter.

"Let's go, we have class first."

Gloria stood up and Draco followed immediately.

As she walked up the stairs, she heard Umbridge's angry questioning above her head.

"As a senior investigator, I have the right to know why Harry Potter and the Weasleys took leave!"

"Oh - about this." It was Professor McGonagall's voice. "This morning, they went to visit Mr. Arthur Weasley because he was injured. That's why."

"Lies!" screamed Umbridge. "They disappeared last night!"

"Did you see it with your own eyes?" Professor McGonagall said in her usual serious tone, "If I remember correctly, you talked to me for a long time last night about the team punishment, and I didn't hear the Fat Lady say that you had been to the Gryffindor dormitory."

"You deliberately dragged me into this..."

"We just talked for a long time." Professor McGonagall said, "And how can you insist that Harry and his friends left last night? We don't accept accusations without evidence!"

Umbridge was depressed for a long time without saying anything, then walked away with heavy steps.

Gloria and Draco looked at each other, it turned out that the person had left last night.

They waited until the class was over before going to a safe secret room to open the letter.

Sirius explained the situation in the letter. Harry had another dream last night. He dreamed that he was possessed by a big snake and it bit Arthur. Later, after examination, it was found that Arthur was indeed injured. He was sent to St. Mungo's in time to save his life, but he might have died later.

Draco became nervous instantly. "My father has also been on duty there recently. If the personnel on duty change slightly, the person who gets hurt might be my father."

This time it wasn't a person who broke into the Department of Mysteries, but a snake.

When Gloria saw the snake mentioned in the letter, she immediately thought of the snake beside Voldemort.

"I want to write a letter to my father." The boy sat down, took out paper and pen and started writing.

"It's not the first time. Last time, Bode treated himself as a teapot, but Mr. Weasley was really seriously injured. The Ministry of Magic had to pay attention to the Hall of Prophecy."

Gloria came and sat down next to him. "You can ask Lucius if he wants to follow the last plan and find a time to claim illness to avoid duty."

Draco said, "It depends on my father's decision."

After he finished writing the letter, he realized there was another letter under the parchment, which he had not noticed because he was in such a hurry.

"Lori, letter."

Gloria opened it and saw that it was a letter from Conrad.

Miss Slytherin:

Perhaps you already know what happened last night. Arthur Weasley was sent to St. Mungo's. He was attacked by something unknown and the bleeding could not be stopped.

This morning Dumbledore came to Fudge's office and the two chatted for a while. When he came out, Dumbledore looked unhappy, and it seemed that the conversation did not go well.

Fudge had instructed that this matter must not be known to reporters, and St. Mungo's would not proactively disclose patient information.

Then Fudge told me some of Dumbledore's words, saying that Voldemort sent a snake to the Hall of Prophecy to investigate. Fudge didn't believe it at all and thought it was crazy. However, Weasley's injury was indeed not man-made, so Fudge decided to pay more attention to the Hall of Prophecy.

I've also been keeping an eye on Bode recently. He's safe now, and no strangers come to visit him except his family and officials from the Ministry of Magic.

Hope this information can help you.

Gloria put the letter away. "Fudge must be panicking now. Arthur was indeed injured by an animal."

Draco glanced at the contents of the letter and said with disgust, "Father made the right choice by staying away from him. Shouldn't he send someone to guard him?"

"That doesn't mean you admit what Dumbledore said." Gloria said, "Besides, the prophecy ball can only be touched by the person who has been predicted. Otherwise, it will be like Bode, so Fudge is not worried that someone can really get it."
