Chapter 120 Leir's Enlightenment
Chapter 120 Leir's Enlightenment
As the Easter holidays begin, many students choose to go home.
Harry, Ron and Hermione decided to stay at school so that they could go to the Ministry of Magic together.
The first thing Gloria did when she got home was to look for portraits of her parents.
When he came in, Aurora was drawing something in the painting and Regulus was whispering beside her.
When the two saw Gloria's face, they knew their daughter was in a bad mood.
Aurora sounded worried, "What's wrong Lori?"
"The person who truly betrayed the Potters has been caught. Sirius is in the Ministry of Magic and can be cleared of the injustice." She said this calmly.
"That's a good thing," Regulus said gently, "You've decided to take on Voldemort. The stronger the Order of the Phoenix is, the better. Sirius is quite capable."
"I just feel a little uncomfortable." Gloria didn't care about the strength of the Order of the Phoenix. "I can't describe how I felt when I saw him dying for his friends and staying in Azkaban for more than ten years because of guilt."
"Lori—look at me."
Gloria looked up at her father in the picture frame, her grey eyes firm and gentle.
"I became a Death Eater voluntarily. No one forced me. I wanted to make the pure-blood glory of the Black family shine again." Regulus said, "But a mistake is a mistake. Waking up in time does not mean that the mistake did not happen. Sirius left home in disappointment and treated his friends sincerely. These were all correct choices."
Gloria's eyes were red, which made Regulus feel distressed.
"Don't cry, Lori. When I joined the Death Eaters at the age of seventeen, I just thought I was going to do something big. I was too young at that time and didn't know how cruel the things I would do in the future would be. They killed half-bloods and Muggle-born wizards, and even captured Muggles to torture them. I didn't kill anyone myself, but I helped capture people. This was the biggest mistake. No matter what Sirius does, I must complete my self-salvation."
Aurora had seen Regulus' pain during that period, and she hugged him gently.
"I understand, father." Gloria said with obvious tears in her voice.
Regulus said: "If he can come out safely, let us brothers meet him."
"Little Lori." Aurora said softly, "Don't feel too burdened. Your father and I just want you to live a happy life."
"Sirius looks a lot like his father." She lowered her eyes and said, "I feel weird looking at his face."
"In terms of blood relationship, he is your closest relative at present." Regulus knew that his daughter missed him mainly. "Sirius has a bad temper, but he is very good to those he cares about."
After chatting with her parents' portraits for a long time, Gloria went to Malfoy Manor.
Seeing Gloria appear, Draco stepped forward and grabbed her hand, "Have you seen them?"
"Yeah." Gloria nodded. "You said a lot. Father is right. His death cannot be blamed on anyone."
Draco hugged her tightly, "We are all here with you."
"Where's Lucius?"
"Father is in the office. He took your advice and didn't interfere in Sirius' affairs."
"I want to talk to him about something." Gloria said, "Come down later."
At present, apart from daily affairs, the most important thing for the Ministry of Magic is Sirius's verdict. Lucius will not get involved in this matter and can rest at home during Easter.
Gloria knocked on the door twice and heard someone inside motioning for her to come in.
"Gloria, what do you want to say?" Lucius put down the quill.
"I need to meet Fudge at Malfoy Manor, and I'll need to borrow your office."
"Of course." Lucius said, "Is it about Sirius? All I know about this case is that the Ministry of Magic does not intend to let Sirius be completely innocent."
"He must come out innocent." Gloria sat opposite, "I have given Pettigrew a hint that he will not mention your past again, but Draco is very worried that your identity as a Death Eater will be revealed again, so he suggested that you stay away from him."
"I understand." Lucius nodded. "The Malfoy family has a lot of influence in the British wizarding world. They won't easily bring up that matter again, but it would be good to avoid these troubles."

When they arrived at Malfoy Manor, Fudge kept thinking that the topic Gloria wanted to talk to him about must be Sirius.
What is her attitude towards Sirius?
In view of this, Fudge chose to go to the appointment to find out the thoughts of the Slytherin heir. Although he is still a student, he will graduate in a few years, and then he will occupy a high position in the circle of power.
"Hello again, Gloria." Fudge came in and greeted, taking off his hat, his grey hair a little messy. "Are you here to attend the trial?"
"Pretty much," she said. "Is there a general trend in Sirius's trial?"
Fudge smoothed the wrinkled robes on his big belly, "Sirius is innocent...but what he did later clearly violated the law."
As Lucius had inquired, the Ministry did not want Sirius to be completely innocent.
"I can understand that." Gloria had already had a mental assumption. "The Ministry of Magic must preserve its reputation. Having an innocent person stay in Azkaban for more than ten years would have a huge impact if it were reported."
Fudge nodded vaguely, "Although Sirius's case was not decided during my tenure, I am the current Minister after all, and I have to maintain the reputation of the Ministry of Magic."
After several meetings and conversations, Gloria realized that he was a cautious person, tended to be self-protective and had a strong desire for power.
Although he appears to be friendly and generous, he is actually weak, loves money, and is obsessed with status and power.
"If we do this, it will easily lead to more criticism." Gloria persuaded, "I have a better way. Sirius' innocence will not have much impact on the Ministry of Magic."
Fudge was really interested. "What's the solution? Sirius is also your uncle. It would be best if we can have the best of both worlds."
He saw Gloria's attitude, which was Pausilis's posture.
"Sirius had a very good relationship with the Potters, and he was even Harry's godfather. He was the one who persuaded the secret-keeper to change, which led to the tragedy of the mistaken trust. Out of guilt, he did not deny all the accusations and stayed in Azkaban to atone for his sins."
Gloria stood up. "This is an act of righteousness. No matter how the Ministry of Magic investigated at the time, he would have confessed his guilt because he had wrongly trusted Pettigrew."
Fudge nodded in agreement, "That's right! Sirius is very loyal."
"On the contrary, Pettigrew hid in a wizard family and had the opportunity to get close to Harry. Even when news of Sirius's escape from prison broke out, he broke into the school twice, but he was reluctant to leave Hogwarts. He had bad intentions towards Harry. More than ten years later, he is still loyal to Voldemort."
Fudge paled a shade at the mention of Voldemort's name, but tried to remain calm.
Gloria said: "Such a cunning person is in stark contrast to Sirius' justice. It is best to emphasize this point. The Ministry of Magic should quickly resolve everything. This is the right way to restore its reputation."
Fudge pinched his robes. If this was the propaganda, there would be no such thing as the Ministry of Magic wrongly convicting innocent people.
Sirius chose to go to Azkaban out of guilt towards his friend. Pettigrew was too evil and cunning, and secretly became a Death Eater, which led to the tragedy.
He smiled and stood up, "Yes, it was all Pettigrew's fault for betraying his friends and deceiving Sirius and all of us for more than ten years. Sirius is of course not guilty."
"After the trial, I will have a good talk with Sirius and accept an interview." Gloria said calmly: "I am a major shareholder of the Daily Prophet and have absolute say. People will get a clear truth."
Fudge was naturally satisfied, and the two of them shook hands tacitly.
