Chapter 129 The Dark Mark
Chapter 129 The Dark Mark
Summer vacation began and another school year ended. Gloria and Draco slept together. Last night, the Slytherin common room held a party to celebrate winning the house cup, so they slept very late.
The two woke up one after the other only when the train braked and stopped.
A few steps out of the train, in addition to the Malfoy couple, they also saw Sirius dressed in a gorgeous dress, which made the girls look at him frequently.
"Leah!" Sirius came over with his arms open, put his arms around her and patted her shoulder, "Coco prepared a lot of food that you like."
Gloria nodded and asked, "Why are you here?"
"Of course I'm here to pick you up!" Sirius said as a matter of course.
She was a little skeptical. Was Harry really not included?
"Sirius!" His voice appeared just as I thought of Harry.
"Harry." Sirius was more roughly hugging him, his big hands constantly patting Harry's shoulders.
"What the hell..." Draco muttered.
While the godfather and godson were talking, Gloria took the opportunity to greet the Malfoy couple.
"Lucius, Narcissa." She hugged Narcissa.
"Gloria, how is Sirius treating you?" Narcissa asked softly.
"Very good." She said: "Although he has a bad temper, he is okay in front of me."
Narcissa was relieved and touched Gloria's face. "That's good."
Lucius said, "Then I'll see you at Draco's birthday party on the 5th. Of course, you're always welcome to Malfoy Manor."
Draco was reluctant to part and quickly kissed Gloria on the cheek, "I will go to Slytherin Manor when I have time."
Before the holiday, Gloria gave him a portkey that led directly to Slytherin Manor, making it convenient for them to meet.
Just after saying goodbye to them, she turned around and saw Sirius with a slumped face. She was curious, "What's wrong?"
Sirius cursed inwardly: "You quick-tongued kid—"
The two left the station. On the way, Gloria asked, "Why didn't you take Harry away? You said before that you would live with him in the future."
Sirius was a little discouraged when he said this. "Dumbledore said that Lily left a kind of magic in Harry that will provide protection until he reaches adulthood. The necessary condition is that someone with the same bloodline as Lily lives here for at least a month."
No wonder we just said hello at the station and then parted ways.
"It doesn't matter. If July doesn't work, there's still August."
Sirius said, "That's right, so I postponed the celebration party until August, so that when Harry comes, he can participate."

Gloria was very busy during the summer vacation, with family affairs, her own strength training, and contacts with other families. The Slytherin family is indeed well-established and glamorous, but she is the only one left in the family, so she must do her best to achieve perfection and spread her substantial influence as soon as possible within a few years.
Surprisingly, Sirius attended Draco's birthday party this year, but he just had a cold face throughout.
About five days after the birthday party, Lucius took the initiative to write a letter and invited her to Malfoy Manor.
Arriving at the manor, Draco immediately came forward, "Lori, did your father ask you to come?"
"Yes." Gloria asked him, "What happened?"
"I don't know." He frowned and shook his head. "Father hasn't been in good condition recently. It seems like something big has happened. He hasn't told me yet."
In his opinion, if something really serious happened, his father would not hide it from the family for too long.
"I'll go find him first."
Gloria went to the office and Lucius stood in front of the window, looking down at something.
"Draco said you haven't been in good shape lately."
"You were right before," Lucius murmured, "He may be back."
He turned around and pulled up the sleeve of his left arm, revealing the ugly Dark Mark. "The Dark Mark has been reacting lately. Only that person... can make the Dark Mark react."
A black snake spewed out of the open skull's mouth. To Gloria, the black snake was dull in color, almost gray, but Lucius could clearly feel a dull burning pain.
"Turning an elegant snake into this state," she commented lightly.
"Fantastic black magic." Jörmungandr poked out his robe and climbed onto Gloria's shoulders. "He must be quite talented."
It was the first time that Lucius saw the legendary snake. The small snake with white scales and golden eyes did not look very intimidating.
"Can you eat it?" Gloria asked him in snake language.
"of course."
Lucius' pupils constricted. He already knew that Gloria was the heir of Slytherin, but this was the first time he saw her talking to a snake. The Dark Lord had once demonstrated this ability in front of them, the Death Eaters.
Gloria looked at him, "Is the reaction of the Dark Mark getting stronger?"
Lucius lowered his sleeves. "Almost. Compared to the previous reaction, this is quite weak."
"What does it do?"
"Death Eater identity verification. If the Dark Lord wants to summon someone, the mark will burn and turn black. Apparition can reach his location immediately." He placed his left hand behind him. "If you don't arrive in time, the mark will turn black. If you touch the mark, the Dark Lord can feel the location appear."
Gloria nodded. "That means even if you stop following me, you will still be tortured."
"Yes."
"Since you've agreed not to follow his camp anymore." Gloria pointed at his left arm, "Then stretch it out. We need to remove this mark."
Lucius was shocked for a moment, "This mark cannot be erased. It will be branded on your body for the rest of your life."
"Just because others can't do it doesn't mean I can't." Gloria said calmly.
He hesitated, feeling a little bit expectant.
The sleeve was pulled up again, and Jörmungandr climbed along Gloria's raised arm to the back of her hand.
"This is Jörmungandr. It can eat the Dark Mark. No matter what it does later, don't avoid it—"
Lucius nodded and held the mark out to Jörmungandr.
The white snake bit the marked position fiercely. He was frightened and trembled. He did not retract his arm in the end, and then he found that there was no pain.
Jörmungandr seemed to have really bitten something. The black snake in the mark twisted and seemed to be struggling, but was finally pulled out.
The dark mark that left the arm turned into a strange black gas and was swallowed by the white snake.
Lucius' left arm returned to normal without the ugly mark. He reached out to touch it in disbelief, but was afraid it was just an illusion and would allow the Dark Lord to sense his location.
"Don't worry, the mark was eaten by Jörmungandr."
He then dared to touch it, and found that his left arm was normal, as if it had never been branded with the Dark Mark.
"Since he's back, I have to give this to you." Gloria took out two plain rings. The round rings were very thin and difficult to detect unless you pinched them between your fingertips. "This is a special door key to Slytherin Manor. You can touch it at any time when you wear it on your hand. Just say Slytherin when you need it. If a spell is cast on you, you will be automatically transported. Don't worry, Voldemort will definitely want to win you over and will not let you die easily."
Lucius took the ring and realized that it was his life-saving item. "Then Draco..."
"Draco already has them. These two are for you and Narcissa. Of course, if the follow-up situation is bad, I will let Narcissa live in Slytherin Manor. Do you want to tell Draco about Voldemort in person?"
Lucius nodded, "I'll tell him."
"Everyone who follows Voldemort has this mark?" Gloria asked curiously.
Lucius straightened his sleeves and said with a hint of pride, "Of course not. There are only a few dozen people who are actually marked."
Otherwise, the Ministry of Magic would have been able to use the Dark Mark to capture the wizards who followed Voldemort.
