HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 142 The Triwizard Tournament

Chapter 142 The Triwizard Tournament

At the table, Professor Moody finished his meal, took out the curved wine bottle and took a sip, looking very alert and cautious.

Dumbledore cleared his throat and continued, "In the next school year, we will hold a very exciting event. You should know that this event has been discontinued for many years. I hereby announce that the Triwizard Tournament will be held in Hogwarts!"

The tense atmosphere in the hall dissipated instantly, and everyone started discussing heatedly. Some people knew about this activity, but more people were not aware of it. Headmaster Dumbledore was reminded by Professor McGonagall to end his joking with the Weasley twins early and began to talk about the situation of the Triwizard Tournament.

The Triwizard Tournament was founded more than 700 years ago. It was originally a friendly competition among the three major magic schools in Europe. Later, it became more and more dangerous and the death toll increased, so the event was terminated.

It sounds scary, but the students only care about the specific content of the game and don't care about the number of deaths.

After several attempts, this year the activity was finally restarted by two departments of the Ministry of Magic, the International Cooperation Department and the Sports Department.

"In October, the headmasters of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will lead their carefully selected warrior candidates to Hogwarts. The ceremony to select the warriors will be held on Halloween..."

As soon as Headmaster Dumbledore finished speaking, many students immediately expressed their desire to participate, with the Weasley twins at the Gryffindor table being the loudest.

At the Hufflepuff table, many people looked at a handsome boy who smiled shyly as his friends pushed and shoved him.

Although this activity was dangerous, that was in the past. Now the activity has been changed, and the school and the Ministry of Magic will do their best to ensure the safety of the students.

Dumbledore said, "I know you are very excited, but the school and the Ministry of Magic have agreed to impose an age limit on students who want to participate. They must be seventeen years old or older to apply to participate."

Suddenly, the students under the age of seventeen became anxious, especially some sixth graders.

"Although the event has been changed, the competition items are still dangerous. We believe that this restriction is necessary!" Dumbledore said loudly to suppress the dissatisfied voices. "Students who are not old enough will never be able to deceive the fair referees. Therefore, students who are not old enough should not waste their time applying."

Then he asked the students to be more enthusiastic when foreign guests came, but no one seemed to listen. After Dumbledore finished speaking, he waved his hand and asked them to go back to sleep.

On the way back, everyone was discussing the Triwizard Tournament. All the way to the dormitory in the basement, many people gathered in the lounge.

They were all in their fourth year and had shed their childishness. The tall and handsome Draco sat down and put his arm behind Gloria.

The firelight reflected on Gloria's increasingly delicate and beautiful face. It was only on the first day of school that she had time to sit here.

"Dumbledore actually let Mad-Eye teach Defense Against the Dark Arts." Daphne was a little anxious, "He is an Auror, I'm afraid he will target people from our school."

Zabini propped his chin with one hand, "I heard that half of the criminals in Azkaban were arrested by him."

Crabbe and Goyle didn't know what to say and looked at Gloria and Draco.

"We are students." Gloria said, "Do you really regard Slytherin House as a reserve camp for Death Eaters?"

Her tone was calm when she spoke, but people around her could see the cold light flashing in her silver eyes.

"Of course not," Zabini said, "but there is always prejudice."

Gloria tapped her fingers on her knees. "If he behaves inappropriately towards Slytherin, I will not stand idly by."

Daphne and Pansy wanted to say something else, but Zabini stopped them and changed the subject.

Draco's increasingly deep features came closer, "I'm going to write to my father and tell him that a lunatic is here to teach this year."

The terrible storm in the early morning finally stopped, but the weather was still cloudy.

They were given a new timetable.

"The first class is History of Magic." Draco flicked the paper with his fingers.

"It's a relaxing morning." Gloria looked through the schedule, "There's also a Care of Magical Creatures class."

Draco took a closer look, "With Gryffindor again. I prefer Potions class being in the same classroom with them."

Professor Snape would do his duty to cause trouble for Gryffindor.

Gloria put away the schedule and smiled faintly.

Hundreds of owls flew in. Amy came mainly to ask for food, while Draco's eagle owl brought a lot of candy. Knowing that Gloria also loved these, he sent them almost every once in a while.

Professor Spence's class was still so hypnotic that some students had already fallen asleep on their desks, but the professor didn't care and just read from the book.

Gloria and Draco were so close that their breaths blended.

"Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will be here next month. I almost went to Durmstrang to study. It only accepts pure-blood wizards, but it's too far and too cold, so my mother didn't agree. However, that school teaches students the Dark Arts, unlike Hogwarts, which only teaches defensive spells."

In Draco's opinion, Defense Against the Dark Arts also requires knowledge of the Dark Arts.

"You have already learned something." Gloria said, "I am more curious about Beauxbatons. My grandmother graduated there."

Draco adjusted his posture and asked, "How did your grandparents know each other?"

"At that time, my grandfather traveled to Europe, but Europe was too chaotic during Grindelwald's time, so he traveled to other continents first. It was not until Grindelwald was defeated and the Witch Party fell that he resumed his European tour and wrote down everything he saw in the wizard and Muggle world during that period for future generations to refer to."

The world described in her grandfather's travel notes emerged in Gloria's mind. These records in her childhood, combined with Enzo's education, initially formed her view of Muggles.

"When my grandfather arrived in France, he met my grandmother who had left home. The Albert family wanted to arrange a marriage for her. My grandmother felt suffocated, so she came out to get some fresh air, and then they fell in love at first sight."

Draco tightened his grip on her hand. He fell in love with Gloria at first sight. "And then? I remember that before you, the Slytherin family could not reveal their identities."

"It's true that it can't be done." She nodded. "So my grandfather gave the Albert family a lot of gold coins, a number that would drive them crazy. My grandmother was free, and my grandfather was willing to send her to settle in other countries, but she insisted on following my grandfather. They traveled all the way and finally returned to the estate in England. It was many years before my mother was born."

Gloria frowned when she said this, "But I didn't expect that those gold coins would cause the Albert family to fall into a struggle for property, and in the end no one survived."

In just a few decades, the once prosperous Albert family fell into decline, with only a few families that had once intermarried with them seeking to establish a relationship with her.

"The Malfoy family won't do that." The boy's eyes were as calm as the sky. "The Malfoy family is very rich, and I am their only child."

Gloria chuckled and buried her face in her arms, but the hand that was pressed against her palm was hot.

She stopped laughing and looked up at him, "We will be together for a long time."
