HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 150: The Goblet of Fire

Chapter 150: The Goblet of Fire

The dinner was gradually coming to an end, and the students' expectant eyes fell on the professor's table.

As the golden plates and glittering cups cleaned themselves, Headmaster Dumbledore smiled and stood up.

An atmosphere of tension and excitement spread in the auditorium, and everyone was waiting for the principal's next words.

"Finally, the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin. Before that, I need to explain a few things before bringing the box in."

Suddenly everyone was curious about the box he mentioned.

"First, allow me to introduce two guests. You may not know them." Dumbledore turned sideways and said, "This is Mr. Derrick Short, Director of the Department of International Magical Cooperation."

Mr. Short stood up and nodded gently, and applause broke out from the audience.

"The other is Mr. Ludo Bagman, Head of the Department of Magical Sports and Physical Education."

As a batsman who was once a little famous, the students gave him even warmer applause.

"Mr. Short and Mr. Bagman have been busy arranging the Triwizard Tournament over the past few months," Dumbledore said. "They will form the judging panel with me, Ms. Maxime, and Headmaster Karkaroff for the next event and score the champions' performances."

The students did not rush to applaud or cheer, but continued to listen attentively to what was said next.

Dumbledore smiled and said, "Mr. Filch, the box is now available."

Mr. Filch, his hair carefully styled, walked onto the stage with his head held high, holding a jewel-encrusted, but old-looking box in his hand.

The students at the four long tables all looked in curiously, wishing they could see through the box and see clearly inside. The shorter students even stood on their chairs.

There was a slight thud, and Dumbledore said something, but Gloria didn't pay attention and waited for the headmaster to open the box.

"Three champions will be selected from each school to represent their school in this dangerous activity," Dumbledore said. "We will score the champions based on the quality of their performance. The champion with the highest score will win the championship cup, and the one responsible for selecting the champions..." He patted the box under his hand, "is the Goblet of Fire."

He tapped the box three times with his wand, and the lid slowly opened. He took out a rough wooden goblet with blue and white flames dancing in it.

The box was closed and the goblet was placed on top so that everyone could clearly see it.

"Every student who wants to run for the Warriors must write their name and school on a piece of parchment and drop it into a goblet..."

Dumbledore was speaking on the stage, and the girl from Durmstrang next to Gloria whispered, "Our school must be Krum."

Draco said nothing. In his heart he was unsure who the champion of Hogwarts would be.

The registration period is 24 hours, and the champions will be announced tomorrow night on Christmas Day. There are also age lines drawn around the goblets. Gloria shook her head. The Weasley twins have no chance at all.

The dinner was over by this time, and Karkaroff came to the Slytherin table, "Viktor, are you full? Would you like some more mulled wine from the ship?"

He spoke softly, and Krum didn't seem like a student at his school, but rather his own child.

Krum shook his head, and Gloria and Draco stood up to leave. Karkaroff noticed her and immediately held out his hand and said, "Miss Slytherin, I saw you just now."

"Principal Karkaroff, welcome to Hogwarts."

Karkaroff smiled and nodded, then looked at Krum like a loving father, making sure he was alright before leading the students towards the door to return to the ship.

"I thought they were going to come to the Slytherin dorm to rest," Draco said.

"They have such a big ship." Gloria chuckled, "Why do they come to our school dormitory?"

As they walked towards the door, they heard Professor Moody's angry voice, "Yes, he is Harry Potter!"

Karkaroff turned around when he heard the voice and saw that his face turned pale instantly, with a mixture of anger and fear.

"They seem to know each other." Gloria turned her head and said, "It looks like they have a grudge against each other."

Draco thought the same thing. "I'll write to my father later and ask him."

Over there, Karkaroff and Professor Moody exchanged a few simple words, while Moody stared at each other with his magic eye, an expression of extreme disgust on his face.

When they were almost at the entrance of the common room, Gloria stopped Draco and said, "I've been wanting to go to the library to borrow a book today, but I went straight to the castle entrance after class and didn't have time to go. I'll go now and be back soon."

"I'll go with you." The boy subconsciously wanted to go with her.

"No need." Gloria said, "Get some candy. I'll eat it when I come back."

Hearing that she wanted to eat candy, Draco naturally prepared it, "Okay, then come back early."

When they reached the entrance hall, Gloria hissed, "Jörmungandr, go to the entrance hall and keep an eye on the Goblet of Fire. Come back and tell me if anything happens."

The little white snake crawled out of the robe, "Okay! Remember to give me five magic gems when you go back."

After saying that, without waiting for her reply, he swam away quickly.

Apophis was unhappy, "What a pity..."

Gloria patted the snake that remained beside her. Regarding Harry's dream, she always remembered to stay alert. Voldemort was planning to murder Harry, and the Triwizard Tournament was a good opportunity to do so. Besides, there were people from other schools coming to the school today.

She went to the library and borrowed the book she had long wanted, then quickly returned to the common room and ate the candy Draco had prepared for her.

At night——

Gloria was sleeping soundly and was woken up by Golinia and Apophis.

Golinia placed her hand on her forehead and said, "Wake up, Jörmungandr is back and is standing at the dormitory door."

She quickly got up and went out. The common room was empty. She opened the dormitory door and Jörmungandr came in. "The headmaster who drove the ship came into the hall and threw a piece of parchment into the Goblet of Fire."

"Did you see the name?" Gloria said as she walked towards her dormitory.

"I see, it's Harry Potter, your friend," Jörmungandr said. "Not only that, there's a Dark Mark on that man's left arm."

Gloria was a little surprised, "Dark Mark..."

Could it be that Karkaroff, like Lucius, used connections in the Ministry of Magic to escape punishment?

"Can I take it out?" She didn't think Harry could handle the Triwizard Tournament.

"No." Jörmungandr curled up. "There's only the child's name on the parchment, not the school. I can feel that the Goblet of Fire has formed a contract."

Gloria lowered her eyes and thought for a while, "Without the name of the school, you are not a Hogwarts warrior."

"I don't know, but there is a contract."

Golinia came over and asked, "You want to join?"

"Yes, I want to be a warrior of Hogwarts." She touched the golden scales of Gornia. "Gornia, together with Jörmungandr, throw my name in to confuse the Goblet of Fire. I am now an adult."

As long as she meets the selection requirements, the Warriors' spot will definitely belong to her.

The three snakes followed Gloria and learned about the Triwizard Tournament. Judging from the challenges over the years, it would not be a problem for her at all.

Golinia replied: "Okay."

Gloria took out a piece of parchment, wrote her name and school in an unfamiliar handwriting, then quietly sent the two snakes out and waited for news of their success.
