Chapter 174: Mermaid Village at the Bottom of the Black Lake

Harry struggled in the water for a few times until gills grew under his ears and he returned to normal. While observing his own magical changes, he looked up and saw Gloria's normal upper body and a silver fish tail, and he opened his mouth in surprise.

It seemed that only Gloria's legs had changed, but in fact her ears had become pointed, there were transparent webs between her fingers, and faint fish-scale marks appeared on her neck.

Seeing Harry looking at her, she waved her hand, turned around, swam her tail and swam quickly towards the bottom of the lake.

The lake bottom was dark but now I could see clearly that among the dense water plants, the fish sensed someone approaching and disappeared through the plants like darts.

Grindelwald, who had grabbed her tail, poked his head out from the water plants. There were several more of them around him. It seemed that the whole area was full of these creatures.

Gloria pointed her wand at the hand and hit it with a silent spell. Grindelwald let go of her hand in pain. She immediately swung her fish tail, but more Grindelwalds chased out.

She waved her wand lightly, creating a powerful wave with herself as the center, which swept up and overturned the Grindelwalds. The huge energy caused the water waves to surge to the surface, and all the spectators saw large waves on the water.

Gloria looked around again and saw that the Grindelwalds knew she was not easy to deal with, so they all hid back in the water plants.

The bottom of the Black Lake was very large, and there were no eye-catching objects to serve as landmarks, so she had to swing her tail as far as possible to expand the search range.

About twenty minutes later, a sound was finally heard.

"We only have one hour to find and take back what we have taken..."

Gloria identified carefully, chose a general direction and swam quickly.

Soon I saw a rock with many mermaids carved on it. They were holding spears and looked wild, seemingly chasing a squid-like creature.

She swam further in around the rocks and heard a song, "Now that you have found this place, come quickly, lest what you are looking for rot here..."

Soon the view opened up to many rough stone dwellings, with algae floating on the stone surfaces with the waves.

Gloria saw clearly the creatures living in the tiny house. They were none other than the mermaids at the bottom of the Black Lake. However, they were not pretty enough. They had iron-gray skin, long and messy dark green hair, yellow eyes and teeth, and pebbles strung together with straw ropes around their necks.

When the mermaids saw her fish tail, they gathered together in surprise and whispered.

"The mermaids of the ocean."

"Why is she here?"

"So beautiful! I wish I was born in the ocean."

"Those mermaids are always prettier than us..."

"She might be a wizard. Have you forgotten that Dumbledore said that all the wizards who appeared today are human wizards?"

Gloria had learned the language of the mermaids and knew what they were saying, but this time she pretended not to understand.

More mermaids appeared, and there were more huts around. Some of them came out with spears in their hands, and they all gathered together, pointing at her and talking endlessly, speculating whether she was a wizard or a mermaid from the sea.

She really didn't expect that there was a tribe of freshwater mermaids under the school's black lake. This place was almost a mermaid village.

Fortunately, after turning a corner, she saw a place similar to a square where mermaids were singing, the song that was used to call the warriors to come closer. Behind them was a huge mermaid statue with four people tied to the statue's tail.

Gloria saw her Draco, who had his eyes closed and seemed to be in a deep sleep, and did not respond to any movement from the outside world.

When I swam closer, I found Ron, Hermione, and a girl with cloud-like silver hair. She looked very young and was definitely Fleur's sister.

The four of them were sleeping soundly, with bubbles coming out of their mouths from time to time.

Gloria went to look at the ropes. The seaweed was so woven that it could not be untied with just hands.

She simply pulled out her wand, moved her mouth silently, and a flash of fire came out from the tip of the wand and tore the water grass rope into pieces.

Gloria quickly hugged Draco's waist and observed his face, which was very pale but looked better than the other three.

Glancing at the mermaids around her, all of whom were staring at her fish tail, Gloria did not linger and swam directly to the surface of the water.

It takes a long time to search in the water, but it is easy to just run to the surface.

She swam faster and faster, and soon the darkness around her faded away, and the brightness of the sky appeared before her eyes through the water.

Gloria suddenly jumped out of the water. Draco beside her immediately regained consciousness and coughed a few times. A few strands of hair stuck to his cheeks. "Lori!"

"Is it cold?" she asked.

Draco shook his head, "I'm wearing the clothes you gave me, and I'm not cold at all."

Several freshwater mermaids appeared around with friendly smiles on their faces.

Gloria waded to the viewing platform with Draco and then undid her transformation. Several mermaids stared at her legs curiously.

When they reached the viewing platform, Sirius immediately reached out and pulled her up, draping a thick blanket over her. "Are you cold?"

Gloria hurriedly shook her head, "It's not cold, are we the only ones coming up?"

"That's right!" Sirius couldn't hide his joy, and then he thought of something, "Someone came up before you, the girl from Beauxbatons, but she withdrew from the competition passively, and the first place is you."

Madam Pomfrey pushed Sirius aside, "Alright Sirius, let the children drink something, it's very cold in the Black Lake this month."

Gloria and Draco stood together, raised their heads to drink the potion, and immediately felt very warm.

Only their hands and hair were wet, the rest of their bodies were dry. Gloria specially found the hair of the ocean mermaids to make two sets of clothes to prevent their whole bodies from being soaked in cold water.

The two saw Furong, with scars on her face and arms, and her clothes torn, but she was staring at the lake with tears in her eyes.

Sirius also stared at the lake, hoping that Harry would appear next.

"Lori, did you know I would be put at the bottom of the lake?" Draco felt the dryness on his body and roughly understood why she sent him clothes before the game.

It took Gloria nearly fifty minutes to return to the surface, and Krum returned with Hermione about five minutes beyond the allotted time.

Krum also used Transfiguration, but he only transformed into a shark's head, which was the opposite of Gloria's fish tail.

Now only Harry was left in the lake, and everyone was waiting anxiously.
