HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 205 Sharing the News

Chapter 205 Sharing the News

Draco's cold face had a deterrent effect on the first-year students, especially some of them who knew something about Hogwarts and knew that Slytherin House was not easy to mess with.

Hagrid worked for Headmaster Dumbledore. This year, the professor who called the new students was a female professor with very short gray hair and an unusually protruding chin.

As a school director, Gloria naturally knew the information of the new professor, Professor Grubbly-Plank, and she would be temporarily teaching the Care of Magical Creatures class this year.

At the end of last school year, the division within the house did not ease with the start of the new school year. The members of the Slytherin Club gathered together and tacitly separated themselves from the rest of the student group to form two groups.

Gloria and Draco sat down in the seat reserved for them, next to them was Zabini, who greeted them with a smile.

"How was your summer?" he asked.

Draco replied expressionlessly: "Very busy."

Gloria raised an eyebrow, "They all look about the same."

After a while, Professor Grubbly-Plank led the freshmen into the auditorium. Professor McGonagall put the Sorting Hat on the chair, and it was still as torn as ever.

After waiting for a few seconds, the slit in the brim of the hat opened and began to sing its song.

This year the song was exceptionally long and everyone listened quietly.

Did Gryffindors once love singing? Salazar didn't write that, but Slytherins weren't interested in remembering other people's hobbies.

When singing about the dispute among the founders of the four colleges, Gloria was quite emotional. Salazar finally stepped back and quietly left the school he had helped to create.

When I entered the auditorium, I was so busy talking that I forgot to look at the staff table. I only saw a bright pink color coming into my sight.

"New professor." Gloria said, staring at the pink.

Draco saw this man for the first time, "Who is this?"

"Umbridge, Fudge's trusted subordinate and our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."

When the people around heard this, their expressions looked a little unhappy.

The professor above has gray-brown curly hair, wears a pink hat with a pink bow on the side, and is dressed in pink. It hurts the eyes.

His bulging eyes supported his sagging eyelids, and his pale face looked like a toad.

"Merlin—" Zabini lowered his head, "Like a pink toad, we're going to have to see this face for the next year?!"

Draco frowned, "Worse than Moody last year."

At least he knew that last year's Moody was a fake professor named Barty, and the real Moody would not target him so much as a professor.

Gloria also lamented, "It would be better if our dean could be the professor of this course."

There is an OWL exam this year. Even if they don’t rely on it to decide their future career, they can’t produce too bad results.

After the Sorting Hat finished singing the song, the students in the entire auditorium began to applaud and discuss among themselves. There were changes in the positions of two professors this year, which was worth mentioning.

Professor McGonagall glanced sternly at the group, and everyone slowly quieted down.

When everyone was silent, she began to call out the names of the new students and sort them into houses.

The freshmen who were sorted into Slytherin sat at the front, and most of the people around them were sophomores.

Bardock waited until the Sorting was over before he told the freshmen around him, "You are new here, and there are some things that must be made clear. The female prefect of Slytherin House is the descendant of the founder of Slytherin House. In this house, you either follow her or oppose her."

Most of the freshmen assigned to Slytherin House knew something about this house, and they felt uneasy when they heard these words. They had just arrived, and they were going to be involved in the factional disputes in the house.

"Why do you want to go against the class leader?" asked the brave freshman.

Bardock glanced at the new student and said, "If you're interested, wait until the start of term dinner is over to find out more."

Little did Gloria know that there were people helping her to attract new students.

Sitting around were members of the Slytherin Club, and as the headmaster announced the official start of the dinner, sumptuous food suddenly appeared.

Zabini used his knife and fork elegantly to carve up the steak on his plate.

"We had a busy summer, and they weren't very nice, especially the one who was close to that one."

Gloria and Draco both knew who he was referring to when he said "they".

Draco frowned and asked, "How do you know?"

If I remember correctly, Zabini parted ways with Crabbe and the others when he chose his club at the end of last school year.

Zabini smiled wickedly and lowered his head, whispering to them, "Theodore."

In Gloria's impression, Nott has a high status in the small group, but he is almost like an invisible person and seems to be uninterested in anything.

"Who would go out of their way to avoid Nott?" Zabini raised an eyebrow and said, "Except our Slytherin lady."

But it's true. At the end of last school year, the atmosphere in the lounge was so tense that Nott didn't say a word from beginning to end. He said he would join the club on the train, but he didn't say he would quit.

I guess Crabbe and the others have completely forgotten it, but who can expect that person's IQ to remember anything?

eat?

"He didn't say he was quitting. Strictly speaking, he's still a member of the Slytherin club." Gloria gently picked up the shrimp that Draco had peeled for her.

Draco also remembered this. "Indeed, he didn't tell me until I left. But I didn't contact him during the summer vacation either."

"It's a good thing that there's no contact. Nott is glad that school has started." Zabini said, "The man is at his house. Of course, he's not always there. Sometimes he goes to other supporters' houses."

Gloria looked at this shrewd boy who was known for his philandering, "I didn't realize you and Nott had such a good relationship."

"He's always like this," Draco said.

Zabini just shrugged at that.

Several people continued to eat, and when they were almost done, the noise around them became louder and louder, and they all wanted to go back to the dormitory to rest.

Headmaster Dumbledore stood up to speak, and while everyone's attention was on the headmaster's voice, Zabini moved closer to them.

"There's something I'm curious about. You guys should know this, especially Draco."

Gloria and Draco held hands together, "Ask."

"Nott told me that the mysterious man is looking for something, and it seems to be very important."

Draco nodded. "Yes, why are you asking this?"

"I'm curious." Zabini said, "It seems that it failed. Theodore said that the man severely punished several people. The screams made him irritated, so he was looking forward to the start of school. In fact, not only did the mission fail, but even if there was no mission, he would be punished for saying the wrong thing."

When he knew this, he was even more grateful that he did not stand with Crabbe and the others.

Gloria was usually a little cold, but unless you provoked her, she wouldn't even give a look, let alone punish anyone for no reason.

Draco was also glad that if he hadn't been with Gloria, Malfoy Manor would probably have been occupied as well. Theodore and his friends were not the only ones who heard these miserable pleas for mercy during the summer vacation.

Headmaster Dumbledore's voice on the stage stopped, and Gloria looked up and saw Umbridge standing up.

He cleared his throat and coughed twice, then thanked the principal for his welcome with a very fake smile.

Not surprisingly, she also graduated from Hogwarts and was a Slytherin.

Apparently Dumbledore hadn't finished his speech yet, as Umbridge stepped aside and began speaking.
