Traveling through time, I'm making pancakes in Warhammer

Chapter 163 Reflection

Chapter 163 Reflection

The familiar aurora-dazzled night sky, the familiar Gothic-style magnificent castle, Howard once again came to the outside of Slaanesh's palace.

Howard was still a little scared when he saw the palace gate gaping like a bottomless mouth.

God knows how he passed the six tests when he first met Slaanesh. If he were to do it again, he would probably fail at the second ring.

Howard looked at Freya fearfully, thinking that this time when I go in, I shouldn't have to go through the six trials again, right?

But Freya seemed to have misunderstood Howard's meaning and asked him with a smile: "Why? Looking at you like this, do you still want to leave again?"

Howard shook his head vigorously to clarify his attitude and thoughts.

"If you want to see the Lord, you must walk through the palace. This is a rule that no one can cross." Freya said, "Let's go. I will accompany you."

So under the guidance of Slaanesh, Howard walked through the Six Rings again.

This was his third time going through the six-level trial, and also his second time walking from the outer ring to the inner ring.

This time entering the sixth level trial was different from the first time I personally experienced the trial, but it was also different from being a bystander when I walked out the second time. This time when I entered Howard, I didn't see any other people undergoing the trial.

During the first trial, he walked past a quiet mountain of gold, which was piled with expensive graphics cards, game consoles and out-of-print figurines.

This time he didn't need to complete any goals or meet any conditions. He just had to keep following Freya forward, and the door to the next trial would naturally open.

The second trial was still a test of gluttony. The magnificent hall was filled with exquisite food. Freya once again suggested that Howard taste it and repeatedly assured him that the food was completely normal, but Howard still didn't dare to eat it.

The third trial was about lust, and the characters waiting for Howard were still from games or comics, but this time, Howard discovered that among the characters coming to greet him was an elf with pointy ears.

But Howard couldn't remember who she was or which work he had seen her in. However, this is not something worth making a fuss about. For example, Howard first recognized DVA's physical characteristics, then knew her name, and finally knew which game she was a character in.

Maybe this elf was also a character in some secondary cultural creation that Howard had seen, but Howard did not delve into the setting of this character later so he could not remember it. The character that appears in the third trial of the Palace of Slaanesh is not based on your understanding of her or your preference for her, but is created based on your XP.

When it came to the fourth trial, this trial was about ideals, that is, what you most wanted to see and achieve. Howard hesitated for the first time before stepping into the fourth ring.

The last time he came here, he saw an illusion that the Emperor came to save him. Now that he stepped in again, he knew in his heart that what he was about to see this time would no longer be the same.

He was afraid, afraid of this mirror that could reflect the deepest desires in the hearts of everyone who came to the trial.

At Freya's urging, Howard finally stepped into the ideal ring, but what greeted him was a desert.

Howard was stunned at first, then smiled self-deprecatingly.

It turns out that my ideal has turned into a desert. It’s okay this way. It’s better to have no ideals than to have wrong ideals.

But just as Howard had this thought, heavy dark clouds suddenly covered the entire sky, and the surroundings suddenly fell into the deepest darkness. Then, countless lightning flashed across the sky, briefly illuminating this obscured world for Howard.

Lightning was like a light bulb that could only light up for a fraction of a second at a time, providing Howard with intermittent vision. Each bolt of lightning could only illuminate a small area, and the scene illuminated was completely different each time.

A flash of light, brighter than all the previous lightning combined, streaked across the sky. The desert beneath the dark clouds was as bright as day, then immediately plunged into the deepest darkness.

"Boom!"

Thunder exploded above Howard's head, and Howard felt as if he had been struck by lightning. The cold and numb feeling extended from the top of his head to his heels.

In the darkness, someone grabbed Howard's hand. The hand was soft and warm. She led Howard forward step by step in the darkness, and finally, they left the desert shrouded in thunderstorms.

"How is it?" Freya asked with interest.

"Ah...ah?!" Howard looked confused. He had not yet recovered from the shock.

"What did you see during the fourth test just now? What scared you so much?" Freya looked at Howard with concern and curiosity. "Your lips are all white."

"I... I..." Howard quickly began to make up a story: "I saw... I saw a rotten skeleton sitting on a golden throne... The skeleton... He was burning, and there was a sword stuck in his chest... But I don't know what it was..."

"Is this really what you saw?" Freya looked puzzled.

"I don't know why I'm seeing this..." Howard feigned composure, his hands trembling. "That skeleton... that skeleton is the Corpse King... He's dead... He died right in front of me..."

Just as Howard was panicking, Freya pulled him into her arms and put his face against her huge treasure chest.

"Don't be so nervous, relax a little." Freya comforted her. "I heard that rubbing your breasts can relieve stress. Do you want to try it?"

Howard continued to bury his face in Floyd's huge treasure chest. He did not struggle to break free, nor did he follow Freya's method.

He needed some time to calm down his nerves.

Originally, after experiencing so many things, Howard thought that his heart would be calm, but just now, under the brief light brought by the last lightning, Howard saw a scene that he had never imagined.

In the pale blue light of lightning, he saw the war.

In the center of the battlefield, a giant with his upper body naked, so handsome that his gender could not be determined, stood on the ground. The giant stretched out his hands, holding two hearts in his hands.

The two hearts came from two people hanging on the giant's arms and pierced by the giant. One of them was wearing a white Greek-style long skirt, and the other was wearing a gorgeous black costume and a clown mask with a black tear on his face.

But what shocked Howard the most was not this, but the fact that in the distance of the battlefield, he saw a tall and thin black figure with long hair spread out behind his back like a black cloak.

He held a sharp sword burning with black flames in his hand and pierced Freya's chest.

Freya was provoked by that man, like a pierced thorn bird, her wings withered, blood flowed down her calves, staining every toe red.

Howard didn't understand why he saw this scene. Could it be that what he hoped for deep in his heart was Freya's death?
