Chapter 227: Heart of the Stone Spirit
Chapter 227: Heart of the Stone Spirit
When the last stone spirit fell down and the dust settled, Chen Xian, Yaya and Xiaoshou all collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. Although the battle was over, the exhaustion left behind still made them feel sore all over. However, they knew that there might be important clues hidden in the ruins before them, and they could not stay here for too long.
Chen Xian stood up and walked to the nearest stone spirit wreckage, observing it carefully. He noticed that there was a special stone on the chest of the stone spirit, which shone faintly in the sun, in sharp contrast to the ordinary rocks around it.
"This stone looks a little different." Chen Xian said, and he carefully dug out the stone with his spirit sword. When he picked up the stone, he felt it was slightly hot, and there was a strange energy fluctuation.
"Brother, what is this?" Yaya asked curiously. She also stood up and walked closer to take a look.
"I'm not sure, but it may be the source of the stone spirit's power." Chen Xian guessed, "Maybe we can find a way to use it."
The little animal circled around Chen Xian a few times, then sniffed the stone with its nose and made a low cry, as if telling them the importance of this stone.
"Okay, let's take it with us and see if we can find any clues." Chen Xian said, putting the stone into the bag he carried with him.
They continued to move forward and walked into the center of the ruins. Although the buildings here were in ruins, the remaining stone pillars and carvings showed that this was once a magnificent city. Various strange symbols were scattered in the ruins, and these symbols seemed to be related to the symbols Chen Xian had seen in the cave before.
"These symbols look like some kind of language." Chen Xian pointed to the symbols on a stone tablet and said, "Maybe they can tell us where this place is and why there are so many strange creatures."
Yaya looked at the symbols and her eyes suddenly lit up. "Brother, look over there!" She pointed to the remains of what seemed to be an altar. There, there was a large stone slab with a complex map engraved on it, as well as some words that looked like instructions.
Chen Xian walked closer and found that there were several key locations marked on the map. One of the places was specially marked with a line of words next to it. Although the language was unfamiliar, he vaguely felt that these characters seemed to be related to the mysterious stone.
"I think I know where we are going." Chen Xian pointed to a mark on the map and said, "If we can find this place, maybe we can figure out what is going on."
Yaya nodded, with an expectant look on her face. They packed up their things and started a new journey according to the instructions on the map.
As they gradually moved away from the ruins, the surrounding scenery changed. Some plants began to appear on the originally desolate land, and the air was filled with a faint floral scent. The little beast seemed to be very interested in these plants, stopping from time to time to smell them, and sometimes gently touching them with its claws.
As they continued to move forward, the sky suddenly became overcast and a sudden rainstorm poured down. They hurriedly looked for a place to take shelter from the rain and finally found refuge in a cave.
Taking advantage of the break, Chen Xian took out the stone he got from the stone spirit and tried to feel the energy in it by touching it. The moment his fingers touched the stone, a warm current flowed out of the stone and entered his body. He closed his eyes, concentrated his mind, and tried to establish a connection with the stone.
As time went by, Chen Xian felt as if he had entered a whole new world, in which he saw pictures of the history and future of this land. These pictures told him that there was an ancient secret on this land, and this secret was closely related to everything they had experienced.
When Chen Xian opened his eyes, he seemed more determined. "I saw something important," he said to Yaya, "We need to get to the place marked on the map as soon as possible. There are the answers we need."
Yaya nodded, her eyes full of trust. "I believe in you, brother. No matter how many difficulties we face, we will overcome them together."
The little beast also made a loud cry, as if responding to their decision. They looked at each other and then walked out of the cave together.
