Chapter 55: Scaring the Family
Chapter 55: Scaring the Family
Qu Jingyao smiled slightly, turned around with Bai Xue and disappeared into space.
After returning to the valley, she looked around and saw the towering old tree before her. She walked up to it and circled around it, muttering to herself:
"This is a Bodhi tree! It must be a thousand years old, wow..."
Snow White followed her master and looked up at the tree.
"This tree has been like this for as long as I can remember. I guess it's really very old..."
Qu Jingyao raised her eyebrows, placed a slender hand on her chin, and lightly tapped her cheek with her white jade fingers slightly bent, as if she was thinking about something.
Bai Xue looked at the quiet moment in front of her and slowly squatted down.
"Bai Xue, Master, can you please let me move this ancient tree to the space?"
But as soon as she said this, she was stopped by Manman in the space. She couldn't do it with her current physical condition. Manman advised her worriedly to talk about it later.
"Okay, I'll go down the mountain first."
Qu Jingyao glanced at the ancient tree again, sighed slightly, and called Bai Xue as they walked out of the valley.
Bai Xue followed Qu Jingyao obediently and caught two fat rabbits on the way down the mountain, whose fur happened to be snow-white.
It was just that the fur accidentally touched the Impatiens flowers nearby and got stained with color, which gave Qu Jingyao inspiration:
"Yes, this rabbit fur can be dyed! Yes, I am really clever, haha..."
Bai Xue tilted her head, not knowing what was going on, and looked at her master who was laughing like a mad woman.
Qu Jingyao reached out and touched Bai Xue's head, her eyebrows curved and her eyes flashed with bright light, full of surprise. She called it and ran down the mountain happily.
Baiguo, who was the first to return to the yard, was carrying a lot of prey. As soon as he and Dabai entered the yard, they saw Qu Qingchen standing in front of the woodshed chopping wood. His eyes narrowed, and he raised an axe and shouted, "Baiguo, be careful!"
"Master, don't do anything. This is Dabai. It won't hurt anyone." Bai Guo left the prey behind and quickly stepped forward to stand in front of Dabai and explain to him.
Qu Qingchen breathed a sigh of relief, but still stared at Dabai cautiously. He looked left and right for a moment, but didn't see his sister. His face darkened with nervousness, so he asked Baiguo.
"Master, don't worry, the master is behind us and will be back soon!"
Bai Guo put down his prey and took some effort to explain the situation clearly. Finally, he fanned the sweat off his face and said, "Master, do you understand?"
Qu Qingchen's mouth twitched, and he seemed to understand what was going on. His sister could communicate with animals, but Bai Guo didn't seem to know about this. So he simply didn't point it out and nodded silently.
He looked at the blood stains on Baiguo's body and asked her to go wash up and change her clothes first so that her mother wouldn't worry.
Baiguo smiled and nodded, then turned and left the yard to wash the blood stains on his body by the river. When he returned to the yard, he saw the eldest young master still staring at Dabai.
She couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Oh my God! Qingchen, be careful of this big beast!" Liu walked out of the main room and almost fainted when she saw the scene in front of her.
Qu Qingchen put down the axe in his hand and ran straight to the door of the main hall. With a nervous look on his face, he reached out to support Liu.
"Don't worry, Mom. It won't hurt anyone. My younger sister asked Bai Guo to bring it back. Look, these prey were caught by Da Bai."
Only then did Liu remember her daughter and looked towards the yard, but she did not find her daughter. She only saw Baiguo running in from outside the yard.
"My lady is back."
Liu's expression relaxed instantly. Just as she was about to take a step, she glanced nervously at Dabai. She saw it squatting obediently beside the pile of prey in the middle of the yard. As if it also felt her nervousness, Dabai slowly bent down and lay down.
Liu patted her chest lightly and walked towards the courtyard gate tentatively. She glanced at Dabai with concern, and saw that it had no intention of getting up. Only then did she feel relieved.
Baiguo walked slowly forward and stood outside the courtyard gate with his wife, looking towards the back mountain.
Qu Jingyao took Bai Xue and slowly took a short path to the woods outside the courtyard. She saw her mother from a distance. She raised the corners of her lips, smiled, and waved at her, saying,
"Mom, I'm back."
When Liu saw her daughter rushing towards her, she shook her head helplessly and laughed, muttering in anger, "You are so old but still act like a child. Aren't you afraid of being laughed at?"
When she saw the white tiger behind her, Liu suddenly became nervous again. She hugged her daughter tightly in her arms and pushed her behind her, fearing that she would be hurt.
Qu Jingyao felt a surge of warmth in her heart. She smiled and took her arm, explaining, "Mom, don't worry. This is Bai Xue, Dabai's wife. They will be my friends from now on. They won't hurt anyone."
Liu's heart was still in a knot, and she was so nervous holding her daughter's hand that she was sweating. She asked her daughter in disbelief, were these two big beasts really tamed by her?
"Dabai, Baixue is my mother and brother. You must not hurt them in the future, nor can you hurt other people in the village. Do you understand?"
The two nodded in a human-like manner, Liu blinked in surprise, and opened her mouth in disbelief.
Even Qu Qingchen standing by admired his sister's ability to tame a big beast and make it her friend!
She pulled the two of them towards the main hall, and behind them she reminded Baiguo to pack up the prey. The pheasants would be sold tomorrow, and she would use the rabbit skin.
As for the roe deer, keep one and sell the rest.
Baiguo smiled and nodded in agreement, took out the dagger her master had given her, and began to squat in the yard to clean up.
The mother and her two sons came to the main hall and looked at the two white tigers that followed in. They lay obediently on the floor and licked each other's fur. Liu and Qu Qingchen twitched their lips.
This little girl in their family is getting more and more powerful. She even tamed a tiger and made it her friend. I wonder what she will bring back next time.
"Mom, they will appear at our house from time to time, just like they are guarding our house. This way, my brother and I can rest assured when we are not at home, so that the Qu family won't come to cause trouble again."
Upon hearing this, Qu Qingchen nodded in agreement. Liu sighed helplessly. This not only scared away the Qu family, but the other people in the village would probably not dare to provoke them easily.
Liu reached out and tugged at her daughter's sleeve, then leaned close to her ear and whispered in her ear how to feed the two babies.
Qu Jingyao burst out laughing: "Haha... Mom, don't worry, Dabai and the others will go to the mountains to hunt for their food by themselves, there's no need to worry about that."
Liu finally breathed a sigh of relief, patted her chest and nodded embarrassedly. This was good, otherwise she was really worried that they couldn't afford to support her!
