Chapter 146 Seeking Peace

Chapter 146 Seeking Peace

Lu Hai hurried forward, grabbed Lin Feng's sleeve, and said anxiously, "Lin Feng, don't be impulsive! This is too dangerous. We can't provoke such a powerful force."

The village chief Fenghao also advised with a worried look on his face: "Child, listen to our advice and leave here quickly. Don't put yourself in danger."

Lin Feng remained unmoved. His eyes revealed a firmness and determination. "If I don't help these villagers solve their current problems, I won't be able to leave in peace. And waiting isn't a solution. I must take the initiative."

Then, Lin Feng turned to look at the village chief Feng Hao, his eyes filled with determination and confidence. "Village chief, don't worry. I'll take care of your affairs. I've sealed this big bear's meridians and dantian. From now on, he will be handed over to you."

The eyes of the Fenghao village chief were filled with gratitude. He bowed deeply to Lin Feng and said, "Lin Feng, you are our great benefactor of Xihuang Island, but I am really worried about your safety. I still hope that you can leave and not take risks for us."

Lin Feng smiled and replied, "It's okay, Village Chief. I don't care about the Royal Martial Pirates at all. I won't do anything I'm not sure of."

Seeing that he couldn't convince Lin Feng, the village chief Fenghao sighed helplessly: "Well, kid, if you change your mind, you can leave at any time."

Afterwards, the village chief of Fenghao invited Lin Feng to his home to express his gratitude.

Lin Feng smiled and refused: "Village Chief, I appreciate your kindness, but now I have more important things waiting for me to deal with."

After saying that, Lin Feng followed Lu Hai back to Lin Zi's home.

At this moment, Big Bear, his cultivation sealed, was like a stray dog, tied up tightly with thick ropes by the villagers. His eyes were filled with despair and regret, and he kept muttering, "It's over, everything is over..."

The afterglow of the setting sun gradually faded, and night fell over Xihuang Island. The sea breeze still howled, as if telling of the suffering and perseverance of this land.

Back at Lin Zi's house, Lu Hai couldn't calm down for a long time. He sat in a chair, rubbing his hands together, his brow furrowed. "Lin Feng, are you really determined to face those powerful pirate groups? This is no joke."

Lin Feng poured a glass of water, took a sip, and then looked at Lu Hai calmly: "Brother Lu Hai, since I have decided to help the villagers of Xihuang Island, I will not give up halfway."

Lu Hai raised his head, his eyes filled with worry. "But the strength of the Royal Warrior Pirates and the Purple Potato Pirates is unfathomable. How could we possibly be their opponents?"

Lin Feng walked to the window, looked at the dark night sky outside, and said firmly: "Don't worry, I'm here, there will be no problem."

The next day, the first rays of morning sunlight, like golden fingers, gently caressed Xihuang Island. Birds' cheerful songs danced among the branches, seemingly trying to awaken the slumbering island. However, Xihuang Island today lacked the tranquility and peace of the past.

Led by the village chief Feng Hao, the villagers gathered at the beach early in the morning. Their faces were filled with fatigue and worry, but their eyes showed a hint of determination.

"Everyone, work harder and move all the things onto the boat!" Village chief Fenghao shouted at the top of his lungs. His voice sounded a little hoarse under the blowing of the sea breeze.

The men were shirtless, revealing their dark and strong arms. They carried heavy boxes and walked towards the ship with heavy steps. Sweat dripped from their foreheads, sparkling in the sunlight.

The women were not idle either, carrying packages or baskets as they carefully navigated the crowd, while the children helped pass small items, their faces flushed red from the effort.

A huge ship sits quietly on the seashore, its mottled body telling the vicissitudes of time, and today, it carries the hopes and fears of the villagers.

Lin Zi held Lu Bing's hand and walked slowly down the village path. Lu Bing was holding a worn little basket filled with some vegetables freshly picked from the fields. Lin Zi's face was filled with confusion as she watched the busy crowd on the beach, her heart filled with confusion.

"Mom, what are they doing?" Lu Bing asked curiously, blinking her innocent big eyes.

Lin Zi did not answer, but quickened her pace and walked towards the village chief Fenghao.

"Village chief, what's going on?" Lin Zi asked, with a hint of urgency in her voice.

Village Chief Fenghao stopped what he was doing, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and said, "Lin Zi, we discussed it all night last night and decided to let Daxiong bring the supplies back as tribute, hoping to gain peace for the village."

Lin Zi frowned, her eyes filled with worry. "Village Chief, will this work? Will those pirates keep their promise?"

Village Chief Fenghao sighed helplessly, "Lin Zi, there's nothing we can do. No one wants Lin Feng to take risks for us, nor does anyone want to give up this home where they've lived for generations. We can only try this method first to see if we can find a glimmer of hope."

Lin Zi bit her lip and said, "Village Chief, I also want to help. I have some food and clothes at home. I'll bring them over."

The village chief of Fenghao quickly waved his hand and said, "Lin Zi, it's not easy for you, a girl, to raise a child. Your husband has made a lot of contributions to the village by taking the villagers out to sea to fish. We can't take your things anymore. The village already owes your family too much."

Lin Zi wanted to insist, but seeing the resolute attitude of Village Chief Feng Hao, she had no choice but to say, "Okay, Village Chief, I hope everything goes well."

After Lin Zi and Lu Bing finished buying groceries, they walked home silently. Along the way, Lu Bing kept asking, "Mom, will the village really be okay? Will those pirates come to bully us again?"

Lin Zi gently stroked Lu Bing's head and comforted her, "Don't worry, baby, it will be fine."

Lin Zi returned home with a heavy heart. She sat by the window, looking out at the sea, and prayed silently in her heart.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng had arrived early in the morning to meditate on a cliff by the sea. He closed his eyes, breathing evenly. The sea breeze gently brushed his face, ruffling his clothes. His figure appeared lonely and resolute in the morning light.

Lu Hai was helping to tidy up the yard at Lin Zi's house. While he was working, he would look towards the sea from time to time, his heart filled with worry.

"I don't know if Lin Feng knows about the village's decision. I hope he doesn't blame us." Lu Hai said to himself.

On the boats at the seashore, supplies were piled high like small mountains. The villagers' sweat soaked their clothes, but they did not slow down their movements in the slightest.

"Everyone, work harder and we will be done soon!" Village chief Fenghao encouraged everyone.
