Chapter 59 The Tension Was High

Chapter 59 The Tension Was High

Feng took two steps back, staring at Ye as she walked out of the room, and asked coldly, "Lin is injured?"

Everyone turned to look at Ye: Ye had been with Lin Ni all day, so if anything happened, they would definitely ask him. If anything happened to Lin Ni, it would definitely be Ye's fault.

Ye didn't really understand what was wrong with Linni's body, so he could only reply dryly, "No."

Feng walked up to Ye, but didn't say anything; he just stared at him.

Seeing that Feng looked ready to fight at the slightest provocation, Yao walked to Ye's side and whispered to Ye, "We want to know what happened."

Ye pursed his lips, unsure of what to say.

Just then, Lin Ni came out of the bathroom, looked at their tense situation, and asked curiously, "What's wrong with you two?"

Everyone looked at Lin Ni, then at Ye, but no one said anything.

Yao walked over to Lin Ni and asked, "Lin, are you injured?"

"This is... these damn orcs have such a keen sense of smell, they could even smell someone changing a sanitary napkin!" Lin Ni blushed a little: "No!" Seeing that everyone still wanted to ask, she quickly changed the subject: "Didn't you say you were going to call me to eat? I'm hungry!"

Yao had been with her all night, and they were in the tribe, so normally there shouldn't be any problems. Thinking this, Yao glanced at Lin Ni several more times. Seeing that she looked well and her face was rosy from sleep, she figured she was alright. So he went to get the food he had prepared for Lin Ni and placed it on the table: "It's ready, come and eat."

"Thank you!" Linni sat down and took a couple of bites. Seeing that Feng was still standing in front of Ye, she said, "Feng, you're back so early today. Have you finished with everything in the tribe?"

Feng walked over and sat down in front of Lin Ni, his expression somewhat gloomy and unreadable: "It'll be quite busy at the beginning, but now everyone knows what to do, so I can keep you company tomorrow."

Lin Ni nodded. Although she felt he was too rude, she couldn't help but understand that this was the first time a single person had acted impulsively. He had already apologized so sincerely, so there was no need to keep holding onto it. As long as he could really change, that would be fine.

Feng continued, "Yan and the others came back and told us about how the Cursed Lands are getting worse. The tribe has decided to send all the flying orcs out to patrol the mountain ranges, and then send high-ranking orcs to clean up all the Cursed Lands after the trade fair. So Yan will be leaving the tribe tomorrow."

Yan nodded and said, "Okay, I understand."

Feng added, "I'll probably be the leader of the team that clears the Cursed Lands, which means I might not be able to stay with you in the tribe for a while."

"You've worked hard!" He truly is a backbone member of the tribe; this is what they mean by "with great power comes great responsibility." Linni ate while looking up at him and said, "Take care of yourself."

Feng nodded: "I'll be fine." He glanced at Lin Ni, "And you?"

Linni looked up at Feng with a puzzled expression: "Me? I'll be waiting for you to come back in the tribe!"

Feng said, "You are our partner. Even in the tribe, whenever we can't see you, we will miss you and worry about your safety."

Feng spoke sweet nothings with a serious expression, and Lin Ni felt herself being charmed by him, her face unconsciously turning red: "I'm fine, you don't need to worry."

Seeing that she had lowered her head to eat again, Feng waited until she had swallowed the meat before asking, "So tell me, where exactly are you injured?"

Lin Ni's face flushed again after she had calmed down, and she said awkwardly, "I already said I'm not injured."

Feng glanced at Lin Ni, then turned to look at Ye without saying a word. Lin Ni, standing to the side, could feel the immense pressure he was putting on Ye, so she couldn't help but say, "Don't look at Ye like that, this has nothing to do with him."

Feng turned to look at Lin Ni again, and seeing her nervously protecting Ye, he pursed his lips and said nothing.

Lin Ni sighed, remembering that he was also concerned about her, and said softly, "Feng, I'm really fine. You've all had a long day, get some rest." She quickly finished the food in her bowl and said to Feng, whose face showed no sign of anything amiss, "See, I can eat and sleep well, I'm perfectly fine!"

She put down the bowl and said to Yao, "Yao, is there any hot water? I want to take a bath."

Yao nodded, "Yes." Then he walked to Lin Ni's side, hugged her as she was about to wash the dishes, took the bowl from her hands and placed it on the table, and whispered, "Lin, let me say a few words to you, okay?"

Lin Ni looked at him; Yao's face was unusually devoid of a smile, and Lin Ni nodded solemnly without realizing it.

Yao sat down again with Lin Ni in his arms and said to her, "You see, Feng really likes you and cares about you, right?"

Linni nodded, blushing. "My husband said, 'Look, this man really likes you.' Isn't that exciting?"

Yao added, "And Yan and I are the same."

Linni nodded again.

Yao continued, "Although we all love you the same, you and Ye have been through a lot together, things that Feng and Yan haven't experienced together."

His words made Feng and Yan both lower their eyes.

“Now that you’ve spent a day with Ye, you’re injured.” Yao stopped Lin Ni from refuting him: “Even though you keep saying you’re not, we can all smell the blood on you.”

Lin Ni shut her mouth, lowered her head, and didn't say anything.

Yao continued, "Then we can't help but wonder if it was because Ye's carelessness that you got hurt, and you were afraid we would blame Ye, so you kept it a secret."

Lin Ni hurriedly looked up at everyone and said, "No, I didn't!"

Yao asked patiently and gently, "If I come back from hunting and you smell blood on me, what will you do?"

Linni looked at Yao: "I'll be very worried about you, and then I'll check your body." She paused here, looked at Yao, and then at Feng. She didn't want them to check her! However, she had already subtly asked Hui earlier today: the females here don't have menstrual periods, so how should she explain hers?

Yao said, "You certainly don't want your partner to have conflicts and misunderstandings because of various things, right? So I hope you can tell us about this."

Lin Ni nodded and said to Ye, "Go ahead, I want to take a shower!" After saying that, she jumped off Yao and ran back to her room to find clothes.

Yao glanced at Ye, then turned to prepare bathwater for Lin Ni. Anyway, the place wasn't big, so he could hear everything he was doing.

Night: "That's right, Lin bleeds for seven days every thirty days or so, and then it stops after seven days."

Feng and Yan looked at him speechlessly: Could you be more plausible?

Night: "Actually, I really don't know. It's not that I don't want to tell you, but she just starts bleeding for no reason after thirty days, and then it gets better in seven days. I don't mean to hide it! This is the fourth time this has happened to her since I met Lin. The first time she was in a lot of pain, but then she gradually got better. Anyway, when she bleeds, she gets very angry, won't touch anything cold, and has to take a bath every day."
