Chapter 326 Island
Chapter 326 Island
The next day was a bright and sunny day. Today, the Sky Orcs would carry them across the sea, resting on islands made of reefs. These islands had no trees, no food, and not even water. Food and water had to be prepared in advance.
Bai Ling boiled a large pot of water, let it cool, and then poured it into a bamboo tube. The dried meat was cooked in advance and left to cool, to be put into the basket after the meal. The seaweed that had been dried yesterday also needed to be collected, along with the wild vegetables and fruits that had been gathered. All of these had to be taken along.
After finishing their meal and cleaning up, the Sky Beastman transformed into its beast form. Bai Ling and the tribesmen tied the things to the Sky Beastman's back. Once the baskets were all tied, Bai Ling and the others climbed onto the Sky Beastman's back and secured themselves with ropes. The Grand Elder gave them another instruction: "The wind is strong on the sea. Don't move around too much up there. Even if you lie down, move slowly and try not to get up after you lie down."
The Grand Elder had already given the instructions, and now, before setting off, he gave them one last time. The beastmen all nodded in unison, indicating that they understood.
The elder smiled and said, "Alright, let's set off."
The Sky Orc let out a long howl, its huge wings began to flap, and its body lifted off the ground. Bai Ling felt the wind blowing on his face begin to pick up.
As the Sky Orcs flew higher and higher, their speed increased, and the wind picked up. Even though their bodies were bound by ropes, they were still swayed back and forth by the wind. Bai Ling squeezed Yue's hand and blinked.
Bai Ling didn't speak, but Yue already understood what he meant. Yue nodded and then slowly lay down on the back of the Sky Beastman.
The two sat together and lay down side by side. The feathers on the Sky Orc's back were gently blown up, and the Moon lay on his side, with the feathers blown up by the wind covering half of his face.
Bai Ling slowly lay down as well. The two were very close, their noses only three or four fists apart. Yue looked at Bai Ling and blinked.
Bai Ling whispered, "Yue, rest for a while. I'll call you when we get there."
Yue smiled at Bai Ling, then gently closed her eyes.
Yue's eyelashes were very long, like small fans. Even with his eyes closed, his eyelashes still fluttered gently like butterfly wings, making Bai Ling's heart itch a little.
He longed to reach out and gently touch Yue's eyelashes with his fingertips.
But with so many people around, his every move would be seen by the other orcs, so Bai Ling suppressed the thought in his mind.
Yue's eyelashes would tremble slightly from time to time. Bai Ling smiled and closed her eyes as well.
Not long after Bai Ling closed his eyes, Yue gently opened them. He stared at his lover who was so close to him, his eyes wide and his lips slightly pursed, as if he were thinking about something.
A short while later, Yue moved his hand. His arm emerged from under the animal skin, and his palm slowly approached Bai Ling, his fingertips gently touching Bai Ling's hair.
He really wanted to touch his lover's long eyelashes, but since they were surrounded by orcs, he could only settle for touching her hair instead.
His lover's hair was so smooth, like silk, cool and silky. Yue touched it once, and he could no longer suppress the smile in his eyes. He gently pinched Bai Ling's hair again and was about to pull his hand back.
But as soon as his hand left, another hand grabbed his palm.
Bai Ling opened his eyes. His eyes were dark, reflecting Yue's face. A hint of embarrassment flashed across Yue's face as if she had been caught doing something wrong, and then her cheeks flushed slightly.
Bai Ling didn't say anything. He covered their clasped hands with the animal hide, and then closed his eyes.
Yue Shen glanced at Bai Ling, then closed her eyes as well.
With his eyes no longer able to see, his other senses became exceptionally clear, especially the area where his hand was being held. He could feel that Ling's hand was very warm and hot, which made him feel extremely at ease.
Yue's eyelashes stopped fluttering, and soon after, Yue fell asleep.
As he sensed the moon's breath gradually calming down, Bai Ling opened his eyes again. He looked at the moon, who had already fallen asleep, and felt extremely comfortable.

After flying for an unknown amount of time, the Sky Orcs stopped. It was a small island made of reefs, only a few hundred square meters in size. The island was entirely made of rocks, and there wasn't a trace of soil to be seen.
Because the island was too small, the Sky Orcs landed one by one. Only after the previous Sky Orc unloaded what was on its back and transformed into human form could the next Sky Orc land.
After all the Sky Orcs landed, the Orcs began to rest. It was still far from noon, and the Orcs didn't actually have to stop, but the Grand Elder still made them stop. They still had a long way to go, and the Sky Orcs were carrying so much stuff on their backs, so it was better for them to rest for a while.
After eating and drinking, and resting for a while, the Sky Orcs transformed into their beast forms one by one and flew back into the sky.
By the time the Sky Orcs landed again, the hottest part of the day had passed. The island was covered with beaches and rocks, and the Sky Orcs landed on the beach.
The things they were carrying on their backs were unloaded, and Bai Ling and the others transformed into their beast forms. The baskets were tied to the bodies of the land beastmen, with Yue leading the way. The Grand Elder and a sky beastman sat on Yue's back, guiding it.
Bai Ling followed behind Yue, walking along the rocks. This island was clearly uninhabited. The vegetation on the island was lush, but fortunately, there were more rocks and more wild grass than trees, so it did not form a forest. Otherwise, the orcs would have had to carry the things up in human form.
There are several caves on this island, and they will spend the night in one of them.
The cave where they spent the night wasn't large, but it was more than enough to accommodate the orcs. To Bai Ling's surprise, there were even earthenware pots, pans, and firewood in the cave. The firewood was covered in a layer of dust, indicating that it had been in the cave for quite some time.
The elder said, "This island is the only one in the vicinity with a cave. When the Sky Orcs pass through this sea, they usually stay in this cave. We put earthenware pots and pans in the cave, and also put out any leftover firewood. This will make it much more convenient for the Orcs to stay overnight later."
The places where orcs spend the night on land are not fixed. Even the seaside cave where they slept last night is not necessarily the place where they stay. Besides, it is much more convenient for these land orcs to do anything on land, so they did not leave anything in the cave.
The situation is different on the open sea. This cave is a necessary stop for the Sky Orcs when they fly across this sea. They leave things here so that it will be much more convenient for them to come back next time.
