Chapter 209 209: The War Is About to End Completely
Chapter 209 209: The War Is About to End Completely
Hyuga Arin returned smoothly to Konoha.
Hiruzen Sarutobi took a deep drag from his pipe. "You completed this mission perfectly."
Even he hadn't expected the Sannin to return completely unharmed.
"But… what was that technique of yours?"
It looked like some kind of ultra-long-distance teleportation.
Why did it feel like Arin had far too many over-the-limit techniques?
"Just a kekkei genkai," Arin replied casually.
Of course, Paw-Paw Hand wasn't a bloodline limit. It could technically be taught. He simply had no intention of handing it over.
Hiruzen's expression darkened. "A kekkei genkai, huh? Then there's no helping it—my foot there isn't!!!"
He slammed both hands on the desk.
"Since when does anyone have this many kekkei genkai?!"
By his count, Arin already had:
ByakuganThat strange blue-black Fire ReleaseAnd now this long-range teleportation ability
Throughout history, no one had ever had so many.
"It's normal," Arin shrugged. "Didn't the Sage of Six Paths have multiple kekkei genkai too?"
Sage Body. Sage Eyes. And so on.
"That… makes sense…" Hiruzen nodded subconsciously—then immediately slammed the table again.
"That's a legendary figure!!!"
Even the historical truth about the Sage was uncertain.
"And why can't I be the next Sage of Six Paths?" Arin said with a smile.
Six Paths level was only level 80.
Even pushing it, maybe 90.
Hiruzen stared at him carefully.
Aside from Byakugan, Arin showed no trace of Six Paths bloodline traits.
Relying purely on ninjutsu development?
Impossible.
Even Hiruzen himself, who mastered all five elements, couldn't reach Hashirama's level.
How could Arin?
Still, Hiruzen understood something clearly—
Arin had no intention of handing over that technique. "Kekkei genkai" was just an excuse.
And he didn't believe it for a second.
"Well. If it's truly a bloodline limit… then there's nothing I can do." Hiruzen sighed in regret.
Arin was no longer someone who could be easily controlled.
Fortunately, there was no major conflict between them. One or two techniques weren't worth a clash.
"Any more missions?" Arin asked eagerly. "Like total annihilation or something?"
Hiruzen's mouth twitched.
Right.
This kid was a walking war accelerator.
Push him too far and who knew what he'd do. Within Konoha, he was practically a domestic terrorist. Honestly, not much different from the Uchiha.
"No," Hiruzen exhaled deeply. "The war is ending."
"These past few weeks, Jiraiya and the others have been busy stabilizing the situation."
The battlefield was now fully under control.
No more large-scale fighting.
All that remained was waiting for surrender documents from the four Great Villages.
"That fast?" Arin looked disappointed.
It was already Year 38.
In the original timeline, this period should have been the height of the war.
His butterfly effect had accelerated everything.
The Second War in this timeline had begun early—Year 36—because Hanzo initiated it proactively.
Originally, Rain Country suffered first before Hanzo fully joined.
War started a year earlier.
Ended two years earlier.
Only two years total.
In original history? Three full years.
Arin suddenly froze.
"Wait. Jiraiya."
Originally, Jiraiya should have stayed behind to train Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko.
But this time—
The Sannin had stayed united at the front.
Which meant—
No Toad Squad.
No extended stay in Amegakure.
"That explains why the war ended faster…"
The united Sannin could contend with a Kage.
His butterfly effect again.
Nagato had received ninja training earlier—
But not from Jiraiya.
"So what's Nagato's situation now?"
Rain fell steadily over ruined buildings.
Mud filled the broken streets.
Arin stood atop a collapsed structure, cloaked in a black raincoat and straw hat, overlooking the city below.
Tattered civilians scavenged desperately for food.
"It's brutal."
Rain Country bore the brunt of the war.
And lost.
Hanzo may have won personal glory.
But Amegakure lost to Konoha.
One man couldn't carry an entire minor village against a Great Nation.
Arin's mysterious outfit drew wary glances.
But civilians avoided him.
Ninjas had brought war to Rain Country.
They were both the cause of suffering—
And the source of fear.
Still, hidden ninjas weren't afraid.
A teenage boy leapt out, wielding an iron rod.
"Leave," the boy growled. "This place doesn't welcome you."
Arin glanced around at the empty ruin.
"Not like anyone would choose to stay."
But the boy intrigued him.
"Your footing is unstable. Concealment sloppy. Even your grip on that rod is wrong."
"Academy students would outperform you."
This was someone with zero formal ninja training.
"Leave!!!" the boy shouted again and charged.
The rod smashed through rubble—
But Arin stood unharmed beside him.
"Good strength, though," Arin nodded.
Demonic Illusion: Unconscious Technique.
The boy swung until exhaustion overtook him.
He collapsed onto the muddy ground.
Arin stepped forward and dispelled the illusion.
The boy's pupils shrank.
"Didn't I knock you down?!"
"You don't even know what genjutsu is?" Arin shook his head.
"Take me to your leader."
"Nagato."
The boy's expression changed instantly.
"I'd rather die!" he snapped. "Even if you kill me, I won't take you to Leader Nagato!"
"Good," Arin smiled faintly.
"So you were trained by Nagato after all."
The boy froze—
Realizing he'd been tricked.
"You— you were fishing for information!"
