Chapter 172 I Want You to Be My Wife

Ni Jiamu and Mo Yu came out of the restaurant. Ni Jiamu stood tall and straight, but when he raised his hand to pick up Mo Yu's bag, his movements were somewhat cautious. "Xiao Yu, let's go home."

Mo Yu lowered her eyes, her dense eyelashes covering the complex expression in her eyes. Well, she could take this opportunity to have a good talk with Ni Jiamu, and by the way, she could also go back to pack her luggage. She pursed her lips, nodded, and followed Ni Jiamu into the car in silence.

Meanwhile, inside the luxurious castle halfway up the mountain, the lights were dazzling, almost extravagant. Nan Feng sat on the sofa, facing the pot-bellied Wu Kang, who was slumped in his armchair, his movements relaxed and content, a look of absolute ease and contentment.

"Afeng, your godfather sees that you have almost recovered, so he wants you to go to the company tomorrow." He twisted his fingers, and his voice echoed in the empty hall.

"Okay, Uncle Kang." Nan Feng answered respectfully, his posture straight, but there was an imperceptible confusion hidden in the depths of his eyes.

Wu Kang looked at Nan Feng in front of him with satisfaction. Since Nan Feng was hypnotized, he lost some of his memory and had some of his memory tampered with. He respected him much more than before, and he enjoyed the feeling of looking down on him very much.

The maid brought two cups of tea with gentle steps, and the aroma of tea rose in the air. When she handed the tea to Nan Feng, the corners of his mouth curled up, outlining a smile as warm as a spring breeze. "Thank you for your hard work."

The maid was only 28 years old, and how could she resist the gentle caress of such a handsome young man? Her face instantly flushed, like the clouds in the sky, and she hurriedly retreated, her steps light and flustered. Seeing this, Wu Kang frowned and the flesh on his face trembled.

"Ah Feng, it's their duty to serve you. There's no need to thank them or treat them well. If you treat them too well, they won't understand their place." Nan Feng didn't respond to Wu Kang. He simply lowered his eyes, hiding the secretive glint in them. His slender fingers unconsciously stroked the rim of his teacup. His thoughts drifted far away, his mind struggling to piece together his lost memories.

Wu Kang left the villa and rushed straight to the Qiao Building, with Nan Feng's secretary following closely behind. Entering the office, Wu Kang shouted orders.

"Qiao Feng will be back tomorrow. Please keep an eye on him. Report to me immediately if anything seems amiss."

When his eyes fell on the photo of Nan Feng and Mo Yu on the desk, his face darkened. He reached out and grabbed the photo, throwing it to his secretary like a hot potato.

"Throw this away, don't let Qiao Feng see it."

He glanced at the sketch of Nan Feng next to him and asked suspiciously, "Where did this come from?"

The secretary's heart skipped a beat; she saw this sketch every time she came in. She had also seen Qiao Feng holding this portrait with a smile on his face several times, but she had no idea where it came from.

After thinking for a moment, he replied with a stiff upper lip: "Mr. Qiao must have drawn it himself. I was learning painting before I met Mr. Qiao."

Wu Kang snorted, "Then keep this. Check the office again and throw away anything that looks like it was given by a girl."

After saying that, he strode out of the office. The secretary looked at the arrogant figure and spat, "You act like you're worth 2.58 million, like the company belongs to you." While muttering, he took the photo out of the frame and placed it in the middle of the sketch frame.

Elsewhere, Ni Jiamu and Mo Yu arrived home. The house was brightly lit, but it couldn't warm Mo Yu's cold heart. Ni Jiamu joyfully pulled the strawberry cake he'd prepared from the refrigerator and then wheeled a cart piled high with snacks to the sofa in the living room, a flattering smile on his face.

"Xiaoyu, I bought you some of your favorite food. Which one do you want to eat first?"

Mo Yu looked at what Ni Jiamu had prepared and just opened her mouth to say, "I don't want to eat now. I have something to say..."

Ni Jiamu interrupted her anxiously, "Mom and Dad are traveling. I'll pick up Xiaoxue and Mantou tomorrow to accompany you, okay?"

Mo Yu frowned and raised her voice: "Brother, I have something to say..."

Ni Jiamu seemed to have lost his hearing and continued, "I've asked for two months' leave from school for you. If you're worried about being late, I'll send someone from school to invite a teacher to come to your home to teach you."

Mo Yu couldn't stand it any longer. She stepped forward, covered his mouth with both hands, and raised her voice with a hint of hysteria, "Brother, listen to me first. I've thought carefully about your feelings for me. Maybe it's because you've been busy with work and have no time to interact with girls. You've been staying with me all the time, so you misinterpreted the brother-sister relationship as love."

Ni Jiamu held her wrist, gently moved her hand away, and locked his gaze with Mo Yu. His eyes were filled with unquestionable seriousness, as if he was about to reveal his soul: "Mo Yu, I'm not a fool. I know exactly how I feel about you."

Mo Yu's chest heaved violently, her eyes reddened, and her accusations pierced like arrows. "This kind of relationship is wrong. Although we're not really siblings, in the eyes of outsiders, in the eyes of my parents, and in my heart, we are siblings. Your feelings for me are unacceptable and immoral. If we were really together, how would my parents view us? How would others view our Ni family?"

Ni Jiamu's body froze, his eyes instantly reddened, his eyes filled with tears, his eyes full of hurt and unwillingness: "So, you considered everyone, but you didn't consider me?"

Mo Yu turned her head away, her voice resolute: "I only treat you as a brother, and I hope you only treat me as a sister. I will continue to look for an apartment today, please don't bother me anymore. Only if we keep our distance can we return to the way things were before. You can't continue, otherwise you will regret it later."

Ni Jiamu's hands gripped Mo Yu's shoulders like iron pliers, trying to find a hint of affection in her eyes, but he only saw alienation. He sneered, tears streaming down his face. "Regret? I only regret one thing, and that's not stopping you and Xiao Hecheng. If I could do it again, I would definitely kill him in America."

His chest heaved violently, his eyes a mixture of pain and madness. "And Xiaoyu, you can't leave me, and I don't want to keep my distance from you. I want you to be my wife. Don't worry, no rental company or agency will rent a house to you."

Mo Yu's eyes widened, her face filled with shock and anger. She pushed Ni Jiamu away with all her strength, shouting, "Are you crazy?"

Ni Jiamu approached like a madman, holding Mo Yu's face with both hands, locking her with a fiery gaze. The next moment, he pressed his lips down hard, and a tear rolled down from the corner of his eye and dripped into their mouths.

Mo Yu felt humiliated, clenched her fists, and pushed and hit him hard, tears streaming down her face. Ni Jiamu felt the heat and wetness, opened his eyes, and was greeted by Mo Yu's shattered, glass-like eyes, filled with hatred and despair.

His heart felt like it was hit by a heavy hammer. He immediately let go of her and said in a trembling voice, "Xiaoyu, don't cry. I'm sorry."

Mo Yu raised her hand and slapped him hard on the face. With a crisp "pa" sound, Ni Jiamu leaned to the side, his face burning with pain, but his heart felt even more broken.

Mo Yu turned around and cried, running upstairs, her steps stumbling, each step feeling like she was treading on the edge of a knife. When she reached the door of her room, she slammed it shut.

Ni Jiamu sat dejectedly on the sofa like a sculpture with its spine removed, his eyes staring blankly ahead. The room was dead silent, with only his heavy breathing and the sound of rain that had begun falling outside the window.
