Chapter 219 Going Home
Chapter 219 Going Home
Mo Yu woke up, the morning sun filtering through the gaps in the curtains, casting a few faint rays of light into the room. The bed beside her was already cold; Ni Jiamu had gone to the company early in the morning.
She rubbed her sleepy eyes and walked downstairs, only to see countless cameras densely distributed throughout the house.
With every step she took, the cameras followed her like shadows, spinning mechanically. Anger instantly surged in her heart, and Mo Yu clenched her fists tightly, her nails almost digging into her palms, and gritted her teeth.
"Ni Jiamu, what do you take me for? A prisoner?"
Furious, she went upstairs to find a stack of paper and tape, then angrily wrapped the cameras tightly one by one. After the ordeal, she collapsed on the sofa, gasping for breath.
Just as she was taking a short break, a sudden "clang clang" sound came from the door, breaking the silence. Mo Yu was instantly alert, her heart in her throat, thinking to herself: Could it be a thief?
"Xiaoyu, are you in there?"
Mo Yu, who was about to hide, suddenly stopped in her tracks and her eyes instantly became moist. That was her mother Shang Xue's voice!
"Xiaoyu, Xiaoyu..." Shang Xue's call became more and more urgent.
"I'm in there, Mom, I'm in there!" Mo Yu's voice was trembling with excitement. She ran to the door, holding on to it tightly with both hands.
"Xiaoyu, can you open the door from the inside?"
Mo Yu's excitement instantly dissipated, her shoulders drooped, and she said dejectedly, "Mom, no, we can only open it from the outside. My brother locked the door."
"Xiaoyu, stand away. Mommy will ask someone to break the door down."
Mo Yu quickly stepped back and stood far away. Then, there was a burst of banging sounds at the door, interspersed with Shang Xue's complaints: "Why did that brat fix the door so tightly?"
After more than ten long minutes, the door finally opened with a loud bang. The moment Mo Yu saw Shang Xue, tears welled up in her eyes, but a hint of nervousness also rose in her heart.
Shang Xue noticed her abnormality at first sight, and hugged her in her arms lovingly, saying gently, "Xiaoyu, Mommy will take you home. You look so thin. I'll make you something delicious when I get home."
Sitting in the car, Mo Yu looked at Shang Xue beside her, full of questions, but swallowed the words back when they came to her lips.
"Xiaoyu, tell your mother if anything happens." Shang Xue took her hand, her face full of heartache.
"Mom...Mom, you and Dad don't...want me anymore?" Mo Yu mustered up her courage, her voice trembling slightly.
"How could that be?" Shang Xue gently wiped away her tears with a handkerchief. "We will never abandon you. You are our precious daughter. Don't listen to that brat's nonsense. Mom won't let him take you away again. Your father and I have been looking for you these days. If Yueyue hadn't told us, we wouldn't have known that Ni Jiamu hid you so secretly."
Mo Yu cried even harder after learning the truth. She threw herself into Shang Xue's arms and burst into tears, "Mom, I miss you so much, wuwuwu..."
Back at the old house, Ni Yuantang came out to greet me as soon as the car horn sounded. Having not seen him for so many days, he looked much older, his white hair growing wildly, and his face pale and haggard.
"Dad, are you sick?" Mo Yu's face was full of worry.
"Dad is fine, just has some minor problems." Ni Yuantang said with all his strength.
Mo Yu lowered her head and asked self-reproachfully, "Is it because of me that Dad got sick?"
"I don't blame you." Shang Xue and Ni Yuantang said almost at the same time.
Ni Yuantang coughed lightly, his tone full of guilt: "It's my fault that I didn't discipline Ni Jiamu well. He actually had such thoughts about you and imprisoned you. From now on, you can live at home peacefully. Your mother and I will accompany you. If he dares to mess around again, I will break his legs!"
The three of them walked into the house. Wang Ma carried a plate of food and looked at Mo Yu, her face full of guilt: "Oh, Xiaoyu, it's all my fault. I took care of you for so long, but I didn't realize that Jiamu liked you. I always persuaded you to reconcile with him. It's all my fault..."
"Auntie Wang, I don't blame you." Mo Yu hurriedly comforted her.
"Let's not talk about this for now, Xiaoyu. Come eat quickly. You look so thin." Shang Xue said with concern.
"Yeah, okay." Mo Yu picked up the bowl and chopsticks and started eating bite by bite.
Ni Yuantang picked up a piece of pork ribs and put it in her bowl: "Xiaoyu, don't just eat rice, eat more meat."
"Xiaoyu, have a bowl of chicken soup." Shang Xue also poured a bowl of soup and placed it in front of her.
Mo Yu enjoyed this meal very much.
After dinner, her parents forced her back onto the bed and told her to take a good nap. Mo Yu fell asleep with a smile on her face, but halfway through, she seemed to hear a heated argument downstairs...
