Chapter 449 You Don't Understand Me
Chapter 449 You Don't Understand Me
"Six eights?"
Chen You tightened his grip on the Jade Emperor Sword, the tip of the sword less than three inches from the other's brow.
He did not lower his guard just because the other party answered the password correctly.
In this Origin Realm where cultivation is possible, deducing these things is nothing special.
"Imperial Jade Liquor?" Chen You stared at the pair of eyes that were exactly the same as his own and suddenly blurted out a question.
Chen You, standing at the foot of the mountain, rolled his eyes and irritably scratched the dirt on the ground with his only movable right hand: "One hundred and eighty a cup."
"Can't you come up with something more challenging? This is such an old joke from ages ago!"
Chen You remained unmoved, and quickened his pace: "Which company has the best excavator technology?"
"Go to Lanxiang Technical School in Shandong, China."
"Odd changes, even remains the same?"
"The sign indicates the quadrant." Fake Chen You twisted violently in the pit, creating a dull grating sound as rocks rubbed together, his tone growing increasingly impatient.
"I love you when you walk alone in the dark alley, I love the way you don't kneel. The great river flows eastward, and the stars in the sky point to the Big Dipper."
"Are you fucking done yet? Get me out of here right now, this damn mountain is crushing my disc!"
Chen You fell silent.
The wind whistled across the rocky beach at the foot of Wuzhi Mountain.
They can answer even the most tired jokes that are ingrained in the DNA of Chinese people fluently, and can even answer them first.
This is something that ordinary mind-reading techniques cannot achieve.
Mind reading can only read surface-level thoughts, while these clichéd ideas are reflexes buried deep in the subconscious.
The other party possesses his complete memories.
Chen You did not sheath his sword, but instead took half a step back, creating a safe attack distance.
His mind works incredibly fast.
The expert group had previously warned him that the Source Realm system might have already begun targeting him at the rule level.
The system has its underlying logical limitations; it cannot arbitrarily send down a bolt of lightning to kill a legitimate player like him.
Since we can't eliminate it directly, let's use magic to defeat magic.
The system copied him.
A perfect copy of him, possessing all his memories, personality, and possibly even his skill set.
"Are you going to save him or not?" The fake Chen You got angry when he saw that Chen You was hesitant to act.
"I've been stuck here for who knows how long, eating, drinking, and relieving myself in this half-square-meter space."
"If you don't split this lousy mountain in two, we'll both be living like savages in this desolate wilderness!"
Chen You ignored his shouts.
He squinted, his gaze sweeping over the top of the fake Chen You's head.
There is no health bar.
It has no name.
There is no red name tag representing hostile targets.
The rules of the Source Realm are very rigid; any monster or hostile NPC will be marked with a red name.
Even the city lord who had previously tried to frame him would change color the moment the hostile judgment was triggered.
But this replica in front of me doesn't have that.
Friendly unit.
"I see." A certain possibility came to Chen You's mind.
He got it.
The system did want to kill him, but it didn't dare to act directly, or even label the clone as a "monster".
Because once someone is identified as a monster, Chen You can legitimately use various items and skills to blast them into dust.
The system wanted to use this clone to extract more secrets about him.
He might even want to replace him with this clone at a crucial moment, making it a "spy" for the Source Realm on Earth.
"What are you laughing at?" Fake Chen You felt uneasy at his laughter and slammed his right fist on the ground. "I'm warning you, we're in this together now."
"This Five Finger Mountain is a hidden instance. You can't leave here unless you release me!"
"Yeah?"
Chen You flicked his wrist, and the Jade Emperor Sword twirled beautifully in the air before plunging into the nearby rock with a clang.
Instead of splitting the mountain, he plopped down on the rock in front of the fake Chen You.
"What are you doing?" Fake Chen You stared wide-eyed.
"Nothing much." Chen You slowly took out a handful of sunflower seeds from his backpack, cracked them open, and said, "I suddenly think that the scenery of Wuzhi Mountain is quite nice, perfect for moon gazing."
"Are you fucking crazy?" the fake Chen You roared. "This godforsaken place isn't even a ghost in sight, what kind of moon-gazing are you talking about! Hurry up and split the mountain!"
Chen You spat out the sunflower seed shells and clapped his hands.
"Do you think I'm stupid?" Chen You leaned forward, staring at the face in the pit that looked exactly like his own.
"Since you possess my memories, you should know what kind of person I am."
The fake Chen You didn't speak, but his eyes flickered.
"I'm a coward who's afraid of death and only cares about profit. My first reaction to trouble is to call for backup, and my first reaction to danger is to throw money at it."
Chen You pointed to his nose, "Since you're me, and you're currently trapped under the mountain, why don't you throw money at me?"
Fake Chen You gritted his teeth: "My backpack is sealed! This damn mountain has an anti-magic barrier!"
"Oh, it's magic-suppressing."
Chen You nodded, looking as if he had just realized something.
He stood up, walked to the edge of the pit, and looked down at the fake Chen You.
"Since you are me, you should know what we should be doing right now," Chen You said slowly and deliberately.
Chen You, standing at the foot of the mountain, replied without hesitation: "Nonsense! Of course, we'll tear down this damn mountain and let me out."
"Then we'll combine our powers and chop down anyone we see! The entire Origin Realm will be our domain!"
Chen You smiled.
His smile was sly, even tinged with mockery.
"You've given yourself away." Chen You dusted off his hands, turned around, and faced away from the other person.
"You have my memories, perfectly replicated my appearance, and even the tone of your voice is exactly the same."
Chen You turned around.
"But you don't understand me at all."
Chen You, standing on the mountainside, froze, his agitation instantly turning to shock: "What nonsense are you spouting?"
"If I were really trapped here, with no one to turn to for help," Chen You pointed to his nose, his tone self-righteous, "my first reaction would definitely not be to go and kill someone."
"I will immediately log off and yell, 'Chief, help! I'm not playing this damn game anymore! This isn't over until I get a hundred million or eight hundred million in workers' compensation!'"
Chen You spread his hands.
"Hit people? That's something only brutes do."
"I'm a salaryman who values my life. I have the country's backing, why should I risk my life?"
Chen You's expression froze completely.
A very stiff pause appeared on that identical face.
"The system sent you, didn't it?" Chen You blurted out, his voice turning cold.
"You want to use my face to trick me into revealing information? Or you want to use my hand to trigger some destructive rule?"
The voice just fell.
"Buzz—"
A piercing buzzing sound suddenly rang out throughout the entire Five Finger Mountain.
The rocky beach beneath our feet trembled violently.
Boom!
The five dark blue mountain peaks suddenly shook, and the obscure runes on their surfaces shattered instantly, turning into countless golden specks of light.
A sudden gust of wind arose, sending sand and stones flying.
